Having a background in Russian/Soviet violin school, my goal is to teach everyone the principles of violin playing I stand behind so that they can apply this knowledge themselves and in doing so, acquire independence. In other words – teach a man to fish! Years ago, along with my studies, I dived into performance psychology research as I was so intrigued by it! It would make me happy to be able to share this amazing knowledge on the art of performing and getting into the zone when playing to audiences. Besides enjoying teaching children and adult beginners, I feel that my strongest value is in working with advanced students, where my knowledge and guidance can have an immense impact on their musical life. I strongly believe in guiding each person towards individuality and finding their own unique expression, their voice, rather than making them a copy of their teacher. Technique serves a purpose only to enable our soul to express itself freely... Being able to inspire others is one of the greatest gifts. Welcome to my profile! My name is Fabiola, and I am a violin and viola teacher and children’s orchestra conductor based in Maastricht. As an active orchestral performer, I bring my professional experience on stage directly into my teaching. I help students develop a solid technique while fostering musicality, expression, and confidence. I use a variety of teaching approaches, including Suzuki, ABRSM, Trinity, and Galamian methods, adapting them to each student’s age, personality, and goals. In my lessons, I also focus on how to practice effectively at home, tackle challenging passages, and prepare confidently for public performances. I began my musical journey with El Sistema in Venezuela and continued my studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid, specializing in both performance and pedagogy. I completed a Master’s in Violin Performance with a focus on Spanish music, as well as a symphonic master’s in collaboration with the Spanish Radio and Television Orchestra (Orquesta RTVE). I currently collaborate with the Philharmonie Zuidnederland and the Spanish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra, while also teaching private violin and viola lessons. I believe that discipline and enjoyment go hand in hand, and I enjoy guiding each student in their artistic and personal growth.

Thank you infinitely and definitely recommend Edi! He is an amasing teacher, a marvellously fine musician and a great violinist and violist. During the lesson everything is explained, shown, refined! How much mental strength is invested with love into the lessons! There is no doubt that the violin/viola is Edi’s passion, and not just a profession, and this is passed on to and inspires me. I am glad that I found him as a viola teacher. I admire Edi’s talent, ability to formulate educational material, the learning process itself and the ability to create a wonderfully warm atmosphere during the lessons and in his follow-up emails. In addition to Edi’s pedagogical qualities, he is also a very pleasant, positive and interesting person with wonderfully diverse intellectual interests. Edi is a wonderful violin/viola teacher, a very fine musician, and a charming person! A talented, kind, sympathetic man in love with music!

Maria is a very good teacher. I am an intermediate level student, so I was looking for someone who can give me nuanced feedback. Maria is really good at doing this, and helps with the tone and style of playing by leveraging her knowledge of violin, but also history of music, and the different styles. She pays a lot of attention in promoting dynamism and color when playing, so you get to make music instead of mechanically going through the score. She is very friendly and easy to communicate. I recommend her.
