El objetivo del curso es incentivar al cursante a considerarse como parte integral del ambiente que nos rodea, de manera que se establecerá la relevancia de la preservación de los recursos naturales de una forma sostenible, para lo cual se analizará en el contenido la identificación de las especies y diversidad de los seres vivos, se valorará
la importancia de la preservación de la biodiversidad, analizándose las diversas interacciones y perturbaciones humanas en los ecosistemas y los efectos tóxicos que los ecosistemas pueden inducir en los organismos, al final el cursante estará en capacidad de reconocer los problemas y perspectivas ambientales, así como plantear algunas soluciones para minimizar el problema sobrecalentamiento global y otros problemas ecológicos que agobian en la actualidad.

Se aplicara una estrategia de aprendizaje conductista donde el profesor, por clases magistrales y utilizando como recurso las técnicas TIC con proyecciones animadas y video, tendrá la responsabilidad de suministrar información esencial de contenido que permita el alcance de los objetivos de cada unidad. Se fomentará también la enseñanza cognitiva mediante la participación e intercambio de ideas de todos los miembros del curso, bien sea individual o en grupo mediante la realización de mapas conceptuales, foros, talleres, quick de repaso y otras actividades que permitan el feedback del conocimiento, a objeto de estimular la actitud autodidacta.
