The trumpet is a wonderful instrument. I therefore propose to initiate those who would be interested as well as to help people who are already familiar with this instrument. I've been playing this instrument for 14 years, 10 of which in a conservatory, and I never got tired of it. My way of teaching is mainly based on the management of one's breath and the development of one's musical ear, with breathing exercises, listening, technique etc. Thus, my method is just as suitable for young children who want to learn this instrument, as for older people. My goal is to advance the student without discouraging or overloading with work. That the desire to learn continues. In support, I can lend manuals and sheet music (although I strongly recommend having your own) as well as teach music reading.

Hello! I am Jennifer, double bassist based in Brussels. I enjoy teaching anyone who wants to play the double bass: whether you are just starting out or want to further develop on this magnificent instrument. Making music is central to my lessons and other aspects are also discussed from there: ensemble playing, technique (pizzicato and/or arco), ear training, theory. Because the double bass is a versatile instrument in so many musical styles, we can also approach this one. I like to share my great passion for all kinds of music. Curious? Be sure to send me a message and we will make a plan based on your wishes, agenda and interests! Being able to read music is certainly not a must, we can also tackle this during lessons.

Me : I play banjo for 6 years, alone or with a small band. I gig regularly. I conduct music workshops for 4 years and give banjo lessons for 1 year. The Classes : You will learn the clawhammer technique, it's different from the bluegrass picking technique. It's used in traditionnal american 5 string banjo. I have a large repertoire of banjo songs and tracks, that's what we are going to learn together. You can also ask me to learn a specific song in the country blues field. In the youtube video attached to this announcement, you can hear Clarence Ashley playing The Cuckoo in the tuning of G D G C D (sawmill key or mountain minor) which is the tuning we are gonna use.

I accept students of all ages and backgrounds, from a beginner level to a collegiate-preparatory level. I have been developing my teaching method for over ten years. My primary goal is to help my students understand the deep connections in themselves and between others that music can build. With the understanding that musical motivations are highly personalized, I work with each student to precisely define their goals and create a straightforward path towards achievement. My program is clear and concise, but highly adjusted for each individual. Starting with a strong foundation of technical work including scales, exercises, theoretical and note reading work, I ensure the optimal set up for each student to be able to play with confidence and comfort. I teach a variety of repertoire that is primarily classical, but I often supplement this with pieces from many other genres, which are personalized to excite each student. I encourage all of my students to participate in group-learning environments, and keep them and their parents apprised of camps, competitions, and other performance opportunities available in their area.
