As a Mathematics graduate from the University of Sussex, I’m passionate about helping students overcome challenges in maths and build the confidence they need to do better in the subject! My goal is to make maths feel more approachable to students who currently find the subject difficult or frustrating. I aim to create a supportive and encouraging environment, helping students develop their understanding and confidence in the subject. My experience working with learners where English was their second language, has helped me develop a patient and adaptable teaching style, allowing me to explain concepts clearly and adjust lessons to suit each student’s individual needs. I am familiar with the Edexcel and AQA GCSE exam boards, in which I achieved an A* at GCSE level. However, I am happy to support KS4 students studying under any exam board, as the key mathematical concepts remain the same. I can also confidently teach KS3 and primary school mathematics. My lessons are student-centred and tailored to the learner’s ability and goals. We focus on understanding the logic behind maths rather than simply memorising methods. By working through examples, past paper questions, and problem-solving exercises, students gain the skills and confidence needed to approach questions independently and perform well in exams. As a native English speaker, my aim is to help students feel more confident using English in everyday life. I make the lessons relaxed, supportive, and enjoyable, creating an environment where progress feels natural rather than pressured. Each session is tailored to each student's needs —whether that’s improving speaking, strengthening grammar, or building confidence in conversations. A mix of structured learning and real-life practice helps turn knowledge into practical, usable English. My experience includes working with a wide range of students, including younger learners. Followed up by a specific goal for the class, for example, a certain grammar subject or pronunciation.
