I studied Latin for 6 years (high school and university) and read the works of (among others) : -Ovidius -Virgil -Horace -Civero -Catullus I assign homework and after I receive it, correct it thoroughly additionally providing a lot of remarks/examples if they are necessary. During my lessons I use : - Skype/Whatsapp/Messenger to connect with you, - Google Docs to keep notes, which you can check at any time and they are yours to keep, - sketch board me to make mind maps to show connections between ideas, etc. - books, PPP, word docs, diagrams, pics, etc. I adore my profession and desire each and every one of my students be satisfied with the lesson. That's why I make sure the atmosphere is stress-free and nice. I also want my lessons to be as effective as possible. Therefore, I make sure they are well-prepared, although they can be altered at any point, should such an opportunity arise. I like explaining things in a variety of ways as well as make use of dictionaries, diagrams, etc. When it comes to students who want to sit an exam, I am very demanding. Salvē, ik ben Carlotta en heb reeds 7 jaar ervaring met bijlessen geven. Deze gaan tegenwoordig online door, wat in mijn ervaring de kwaliteit of resultaten geenszins omlaag haalt. Sinds april 2022 volg ik cursussen Latijnse taalverwerving aan de Schola Latīna, een Italiaanse privéschool die de comprehensible input (CI) -methode gebruikt. Dit houdt in dat alle lessen uitsluitend in de doeltaal worden onderwezen, waardoor ik Latijn niet alleen kan vertalen, maar ook spreken en schrijven. Aangezien geen enkele Vlaamse school actieve taalbeheersing verwacht, zal ik dit uiteraard niet ongevraagd doen tijdens de lessen ;) In de praktijk steeds dezelfde problemen terug: moeilijkheden met vertalen, moeilijkheden met memorisatie van rijtjes en woordenschat, gebrek aan motivatie of plezier. Wanneer zo’n fantastisch vak als lastig wordt ervaren, is het niet meer dan logisch dat de motivatie ook wegzakt. Eender wat het probleem is, Latijn zelf is een perfect haalbaar vak. Ik heb ook nog bijles wiskunde gegeven en merkte toen ook dat leerlingen pas plezier hebben wanneer ze niet meer zitten te sukkelen, waar we dus naartoe werken :) Mijn doel is om zo snel mogelijk minder nodig te zijn door strategieën aan te leren en in te oefenen.
