About Me

University trained at the Hartt School of Music in Hartford, CT, USA. I teach all styles of music, with exception of classical guitar. My approach is based off of music theory, as I believe it is very important to have that base of knowledge. (Teach a man a fish... You know the saying) My favourite students are the the ones who are willing to put the time in. Learning the guitar is a difficult, yet incredibly fun and rewarding task. But it takes hard work and practice.

I have played in bands for many years and have gained a lot of experience. I am very well versed in all guitar equipment and working with other musicians.

Jialu
Pianist 10 years of experience gives piano lessons and home solfeggio
At the age of 5, I started studying piano under the direction of the head of the piano department at the Shenyang Conservatory of Music. In 2000, I was admitted to the Shenzhen Art School to study piano and harp, winning second prize in the Hong Kong Asian Piano Open Competition and first prize in the four-handed group. After 2005, I started studying the theory of composition and in 2009 I was admitted to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music with Musical Formation and Composition. I obtained the Bachelor of Music Training in 2013. Graduated in counterpoint from the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Musique in Paris in 2015, I studied with the composer Stéphane Delplace and obtained in 2016 a diploma of DEM of the Regional Conservatory of Paris and studied the organ for 2 years . - For piano teaching, my teaching experience lasted 6 or 7 years. I think that piano teaching is a global system that allows you to quickly and firmly master basic skills and music theory, while developing the auditory system and the meaning of music. - Different students have different personalities: in teaching, I also modify the teaching methods according to the differences of each student. - I led students to participate in audition and conservatory competition, after studying in France, I compared the similarities and differences between the two methods of teaching music theory and have acquired a lot. - My piano teaching has been added to the multimedia teaching method. During a class, I will spend piano, music theory and musical awakening. -My music theory teaching is also added to the multimedia method. A class divides into two parts: work by ear and singing.

Acoustic guitar lessons - classical techniques, learning the accompaniment guitar
The classical guitar, while being at the origin of the other guitars of the current music (folk guitar, electric guitar) possesses a singular repertoire which allows the learning of particular ways of playing: arpeggios, polyphony. If the course is based on classical guitar techniques (which are also used for other styles), the other techniques and repertoires of the acoustic guitar (classical and folk) can be approached. Some solfeggio and musical theory points will be given. After 10 years of training in conservatory and music school, I give tutoring guitar. I'm also a singer-songwriter, so I can give advice to people like me who want to express themselves in music!
