Friendly German Tutor – Academic & Everyday German for All Levels or German with Depth: Politics, Philosophy & Real Conversations
From 19 $ /h
Hello! I'm Ali, and I'd love to be your German teacher. I'm not a native speaker myself – I learned German from scratch and later passed the DSH-2 exam (C1 level). So I know exactly how it feels to struggle with a new language, and more importantly, how to overcome those challenges.
My lessons are for everyone: complete beginners, intermediate learners, and advanced students who need German for university, work, or exam preparation (Goethe, DSH, TestDaF). With my background in political science at the University of Jena, I also specialise in academic German – writing, presentations, and discussions.
I design every lesson around your personal goals. We use real materials like short articles, videos, and everyday conversations, so you learn the German people actually speak. Grammar is never scary with me, and mistakes are always welcome – they show us where to improve. Most importantly, you'll speak a lot and feel comfortable from the very first session.
I have several years of online teaching experience, especially with refugees, which taught me to be patient, calm, and encouraging. If you're curious about politics, society, or philosophy, I'm always happy to bring those topics into our lessons – they're my passion.
Book a lesson and let's start this journey together. I can't wait to meet you!

About Me
Hi! I'm Ali – a German teacher who once couldn't speak a word of German either, so I totally get the struggle! 😄 I'm patient, friendly, and I believe lessons should feel like a cozy chat, not a scary exam. I studied politics in Germany, but I promise I'm more "coffee and conversation" than "stuffy academic". Let's make mistakes, laugh, and learn together – ganz entspannt!

Academic Background: Studied political science in German at the University of Jena after completing B.A Political Science - Shahid Beheshti University of Tehran, Iran . This gives me deep insight into formal, academic language.
Teaching Experience: Several years of volunteer online German teaching to refugees and international learners, covering all levels from A1 to C1. My students are mostly young adults (15–40 years old), and I adapt every lesson to their individual goals.
Specialist Knowledge: I read German philosophical and political texts regularly (G.W.F.Hegel, Karl Marx, Spengler, Schmitt, and others) and can support advanced learners who want to engage with complex ideas.
Language-Learning Empathy: I learned German from scratch myself, so I understand the challenges my students face and teach with patience, structure, and encouragement.
