Creative piano and music theory lessons, for all ages and abilities.
I'm a piano and music theory teacher with over thirty years experience, and a performing singer, pianist, and songwriter. My lessons are very much about what my pupils want to learn, so I'm making sure I pick the right music to make the lesson fun and rewarding. It can be Classical music, Pop, Jazz, Brazilian music, World music, or any other interesting musical language. I teach piano, theory and harmony, ear and rhythm training, general history of music, with a creative approach. My lessons can include songwriting, sing and play practice, listening/analysing practice. My aim is to provide each pupil with the specific tools they need to enjoy playing music.
My background is classical piano, but as a professional musician I have approached music also from different angles. As a teacher I enjoy a creative and open approach, any interesting musical language is welcome in the lesson. I make sure I pick the right music to meet the pupil's interests and tastes, and I integrate classical music both as a precious technique tool, and as a great territory to explore.

Experience / Qualifications
Musician, songwriter, piano and music theory teacher, author and host of radio music programmes, actress, translator, librarian.Italian is a language officially spoken in Italy only, unlike Spanish, or English, to name the most spoken languages in the western world. But it's becoming more and more a must-know language for many, whether the connection with it comes through food, fashion, Opera, design, the arts in general, or any other of the many interesting sides of Italian culture to make it outside "the boot"'s borders. I have been doing Italian conversation lessons for a few years, it has always been a great pleasure for me to share the beauty of Italian language with people showing a genuine interest in my culture. I tend to keep the conversation fully in Italian, but there would be no problem at all with communicating in English if necessary. I give grammar support when needed, and I have a real interest in etymology and words in general if there's an interest in going deeper in the language. Along with the use of precious grammar books and language manuals, the best way to get into a language is to speak it, even more so if with someone giving you support with its correct pronunciation, and its actual use in a realistic scenario. Like most Italians I have an obsession with good food, I love cooking and I'm always happy to share my recipes and cooking tips. Food is a great conversation subject, and it can give you new skills! All ages and levels welcome. For the youngest, I have a degree in primary school education and I've been a music teacher for over thirty years.

Guitar lessons in Crouch End / Highgate / north London
I teach every little thing a guitarist should know, like the correct hand techniques, reading music, and music theory (in a very practical way). And can teach all styles, all guitars and all levels.
But most of all, my biggest passion and mission in life is to help you to be more creative and expressive. And the guitar is the best way to achieve it, of course.
I encourage all my students to write music, improvise, and find their own path, voice, and sound on the guitar. Creating music is not only really fun, but it’s also the most valuable way to learn guitar and understand music on a deeper level.
My current guitar students range from complete beginners to advanced guitarists. They want to embrace the joy of music in their lives and unlock their creative potential by improvising, songwriting, and music composing.
Some of them work towards their diplomas and concerts, and I’m happy to support them along the journey and get great results.
I believe that there are many paths to learning guitar, and I accommodate and design a plan according to your individual goals and needs. In the literature, it’s called “student-led”, and I am firmly convinced that this is the most suitable way to learn.

Guitar lessons -all styles- in Naninne (Namur) and surroundings
- About the course--
My method is to work the technique and the musicality at the beginning of the tastes of the student so that the objectives are always stimulating.
I try to develop as quickly as possible to the students, that is to say to make them able to target their own difficulties and to invent the exercises to solve them.
--About me--
I am a guitar teacher for over 15 years, privately, music school (Kraainem, Waterloo, Enghien) and internship (AKDT). I started the guitar 25 years ago and have never stopped. I went through all styles: from classical to pop songs and then to electric guitar: blues, rock and then jazz (with Frankie Rose). Later, I developed flamenco (with Karim Baggili), Brazilian (with Osman Martins), gypsy music and Eastern European music (with Tcha Limberger). I am also versed in gypsy jazz. I can give classes of any level and any style. I give the theory in parallel of what is worked so that it enters in a passive way. I have experience with children as well as adults. I also teach electric bass and ukulele.

Learn electroacoustic composition - sound creation and sound techniques
Who is this workshop for?
For anyone curious about sound, all music, music in general,
who wants to manufacture, build, examine ... (from 12 or 13 years old).
Do you need to know music theory?
No. But familiarity with music of various styles can be of great help.
DJ? "Electro" music?
No ! We will not learn here to be a DJ or to compose “dance-music”,
“electro” music in the commonly understood sense, not even songs.
Do you need to know the computer?
It is better if it is, but learning can be done at the same time as musical research.
Is this course a software learning course?
No. I give the basics (only on Logic Pro X or Garageband) to be able to compose but I do not teach the deep use of software.
Is it necessary to have a computer?
Yes !
A "workshop" rather than a class?
The course takes the form of a practical workshop, listening sessions, criticism of works.
By computer?
Everything happens on a computer once sound elements of all kinds have been recorded. Editing, transformation, mixing on software designed for this.
No software required. The proposed route can be adapted to any multitrack sequencing software. The computer is only a tool, it is the composer who makes the music.
Practically what do we do?
The composer works “from the sounds” that he has most often recorded himself.
He chooses them, assembles them, deforms them, mixes them according to his project, at will.
of his intuition, his ideas and desires, gradually builds a music.
For those who wish and need it, exercises are offered which allow to approach at the same time techniques of realization
and precise musical proposals.
Composition / Invention
It is not a question of declaring themselves all composers, but of affirming that we can all ask ourselves composers' questions, with both seriousness and imagination.
To confront the game of a free invention.
What musical orientation? What style ?
This is a “musical research” process:
seek to invent a music beyond traditional values - note pitches, regular pulsations, instrumental timbres - without forbidding all that.
A “music of sounds”, in the broadest possible sense, a “music of
all sounds “as opposed to what one could obviously call too simplified“ a music of notes ”.
This choice, which apparently seems to shake up musical uses, is nevertheless part of a tradition of more than a century and rich in a repertoire that is too little known and which has had various names:
- Electroacoustic music
- Concrete music
- Acousmatic music
- Contemporary music
Finally, we each have a precious tool to never forget: our ear, and a fascinating and rewarding job to lead, questioning about oneself.

Learning to play the piano is a wonderful and very diverse experience! Every beginner has to go through it in their own special way in order to realize one's personal aspirations. But sometimes, unfortunately, due to a lack of guidance and direction, the learning process may cause some difficulties followed by unexpected disappointment. After finishing music school with the highest grades twice as well as a number of additional courses (improvisation, composition, orchestras, etc.) and after honing my teaching skills for more than 4 years, I can safely say that my lessons may prove useful to any type of student with any kind of given objective at hand. No matter your age, your previous experience, or background, you just need to name me your personal goal, task, or even a dream - be ready to dedicate a little time and effort, and I will take care of all the rest. Piano Lessons for Beginner-Advanced Levels in Classical and Contemporary Styles
I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons to students of all levels. As a pianist 12 years of teaching experience and over 21 years of playing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the course of learning piano. If the student is interested in a more serious approach, I can also guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) exams. For example, in the last year my students have achieved highest marks in the ABRSM exams as well as prizes in various competitions. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music." Prior to this, I received my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Piano Performance/Music from University of Minnesota and TCU-Fort Worth, TX, USA. My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as soloist with orchestra (also as harpist), and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio and look forward to meeting new students.

Piano lessons - music theory and harmony - for any level
I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age.
I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

Guitar lessons and music theory lessons in Rotterdam
Alex has a bachelor's degree from the Rotterdam Codarts conservatory. Besides that he also obtained a diploma in pedagogy at the Amsterdam conservatory. This combination makes it possible for Alex to convey his knowledge of music to his students in a pleasant way.
Alex has enough experience, he has more than 10 years of experience in teaching music in music in Rotterdam and its surroundings. He has gained this experience by giving private lessons and classes at various music schools.
Alex excels in providing acoustic guitar lessons and music theory lessons. If you are looking for the best guitar lessons in the Rotterdam area, then Alex is the right address. Read more on his website to get an impression of the lessons and the teacher.
Alex's priorities through the lessons are development, motivation and interest. It's very important that there is a constructive evolution in the pupil's playing, a constant will to move forward, as well as pieces/songs that inspire him or her.
It's important that the pupils learn through an efficient and personal method, but also through their own interest and repertoire (wishlist).
In a teaching lesson the focus is put on :
- guitar posture, technique and sound
- timing and rhythmic feel
- strumming and grooves
- interpretation
- theory and knowledge of music
- improvisation
- repertoire (on student's wishlist)
There are three dimensions to a student's programme : scores, tutorials and coaching.
Having a Master's degree in Jazz composition (Rotterdam), Alex designs the scores himself, making arrangements of pieces / songs in an accessible way, along with his method and exercises for guitar technique. The scores are written with a hybrid notation (music notation and tab notation), and with all the information necessary about the right and left hand.
After having agreed on the pieces / songs to be worked on, the relevant score is shared and given at the lesson. The teacher goes through it, while he also plays it live to the pupil for even more reach. He then explains what needs to be clarified in order to prepare any homework.
Finally, Alex creates a video tutorial about the piece or song that needs to be learned for the next lesson. This gives extra support when practising at home, in order to avoid any doubt and keep motivation up.
A report is then created to keep track of what has been done as well as what needs to be worked on, in order to unlock technical requirements and complete a specific repertoire in a constructive and efficient way.
Alex teaches in Rotterdam at home or at the pupil's own location ; lessons are in Dutch, English or French, for all ages and levels. The teacher mainly gives live lessons, where he works with his pupils on specific material (technique and repertoire). If for any reason a live lesson can't take place, it is of course possible to follow an online lesson. Lessons last 30 minutes or 45 minutes, weekly or biweekly.
