Young and experienced music teacher offer recorder classes and music education for kids and adults of all ages and levels!
I am a Brazilian student currently in a master program of Early Music at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels with specialization in recorder. As a music teacher I have a very good experience for more than 8 years giving private classes and regular classes in music schools. Developing an unique method for each student I propose dynamic courses that covers the most elementary until the professional level of the recorder for kids and adults in any age.
The recorder is the perfect instrument to start on the world of music, especially for children. To be a very simple (which means that you can easily make sound with it), versatile and portable instrument it is perfectly suitable for kids, once they can play simple and beautiful melodies at the first or second classes! I propose rich and fun classes for children with recorder and theory of music in such a way that they can feel inspired and confident to move forward each class.
For adults... If you are a complete beginner, don’t worry! I can teach you how to make the first sounds on your new instrument, how to blow properly, the fingerings, posture, etc. creating, step by step, a very solid technique basis that will help you to play easily whatever you want in a near future.
If you are an advanced student or have already the fundamental knowledge of your instrument, I propose an improvement of the technique making it more and more flexible accordingly to the repertory, explore the creativity and make your musical speech even more beautiful and convincing.

JoanaSinging Lessons / Recorder (Blokfluit) lessons for all ages
I am a singer and recorder player, studying in the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. I can teach you recorder and singing and adapt to your tastes and needs.
In both instruments, I focus as a teacher and performer, on a healthy, joyful and technically skilled way of playing and singing. With my students, I focus not only on the instrument sound production, but also on body posture, relaxation and organic movement. A happy, relaxed body produces a beautiful, natural and relaxed sound.
What music style would you like to learn?
Would you like to play folk music, to sing pop songs or walk through a more classical path?
I have experience in different areas, having sang and played folk and jazz music and also studied in the Conservatorium for a long time.
I can also help you with music theory, from the basic introduction to music to advanced solfeggi and rhythms. I graduated in Musicology and studied Music Pedagogy in Portugal before moving to Amsterdam.
For little children I can also combine the playing of the instrument with more didactic activities mixed with body movement and dance!
In the past I taught how to play and sing, from little children (4 years old) to adults with around 60 years old, in group sets and individual lessons. I can adapt to your needs and requests!
And most of all, you will fall in love with music, all kinds of music and have loads of fun!

BarbaraON-LINE! Block flutes in C & F, soprano, alto, tenor and bass in the bass clef,
We offer block flute lessons for adults and children.
The block flute is not only the traditional entry-level instrument, but a full member of the woodwind instrument family. Composers of the 16th and 17th centuries have written well-known works for the soprano flute. In the late 17th and 18th century. the alto flute was "the" instrument for composers like Bach, Haendel, Vivaldi and many more.
For the "easy" entry into the world of music with little fingers, the soprano flute is ideal, adults can start immediately with the larger alto flute (in F, but don't panic, that's "normal").
For adults who would like to stick to the C-flute, but find the soprano "too small", the tenor offers a wonderful deep and warm tone.
Many alto flute players will sooner or later develop an interest in the bass flute. It has a deep, mysterious, deep sound. Unfortunately, many players then rely on the fact that the bass part is / will be transferred into the treble clef, as they cannot read the bass clef. For these players we offer bass clef reading as a workshop.
We offer another workshop "Celtic playing on the block flute", in which we show, explain and work out the differences between traditional and Celtic playing styles with the student / participant.
PhoebeRecorder, Flute and Clarinet Lessons Private and Small Group Tuition
The recorder is more than a squealing school instrument, it has a long history, has a beautiful tone and is an excellent gateway instrument if you want to learn other wind instruments. It teaches you finger control, breath control and how to read music without worrying about extra keys, reaching for notes if you have small hands or holding a heavy instrument.
I have a Post Graduate Diploma from the Royal College of Music on the recorder having studied it as my main instrument for six years. I have taught recorder both privately, in group lessons and as a whole class curriculum music instrument.
With my holistic approach, I make learning enjoyable whilst inspiring pupils to try different styles of music from the Blues to Classical. I can teach using the grade system with either examination body or I can teach for the enjoyment of a pupil learning music.
I have a 100% pass rate on exams and have organised school concerts, performances at school fairs and small performances to children's classes or teachers.
Alongside my main instrument, I teach beginner flute and clarinet.
PearlFlute, Recorder, Theory and Aural tutoring in English/Deutsch/Chinese
For the past decade, I have enjoyed teaching music through flute, recorder, viola, piano, cello and theory in both individual and group settings. As a multi-instrumentalist, I believe it is important that the students develop not only technical skills on their instruments, but approach music creatively.
On top of teaching, I have studied pedagogy alongside my performance bachelors in Auckland and masters in Germany. Being originally born in Taipei, I am familiar with cultures from different continents, and happily teach in English, German and Chinese.
Please feel welcome to contact me any time if you are interested. I will be here to answer any questions :)

JuleRecorder Tuition for Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass (F, bass clef), traditional or "Celtic/folk" style (workshop).
Playing the recorder isn't necessarily "child's play". The recorder is a serious "real" musical instrument like all the other members of the woodwind family.
The soprano recorder in C is the traditional starting point for children as it is just the right size for little fingers. That doesn't mean it's a "kids only" instrument. many 17C composers have written for the soprano recorder.
If you don't want to start with the small C instrument, there's the tenor as the "large" alternative. Because of its size, though, it may be too large for some hands. The alto recorder in F, the 18C favorite of many Baroque composers e.g. Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, also called "flauto dolce"/the sweet recorder, is probably the best place for adults to start with. It's not "too small" nor "too big", offers loads of original literature, and is simply "dolce/sweet". The large F-instrument is the bass recorder. Many alto players play the bass as well but cannot read the bass clef, hence have to rely on others to transpose parts into the treble clef. I offer bass recorder playing and reading in bass clef.
Being passionate about Celtic music myself, I offer workshops explaining and practicing the differences between classical and Celtic playing for recorder players who want to venture into trad Irish or Celtic music.
