I have been working in the industry as an independent artist/top-line/co-writer for the past 18 years, alongside tutoring budding songwriters, musicians and emerging artists for the past 12 years using an extensive knowledge base developed both on the job and by undertaking my BA and MA qualifications.

A qualified multi-discipline music practitioner with over 15 years of experience working in Further and Higher Education. Holding student motivation, attendance, engagement, and achievement in the highest regard. Delivering sessions, lectures and workshops to the highest level. Also highly experienced and trained in many aspects of student support and mindfulness.

Music Theory - The Foundations.

I am a passionate music practitioner offering core lessons to develop the foundations of music theory (also remote or in person Songwriting and Vocal classes available to book)

I can teach from grades 1 - 5 and can support those who wish to take grades with ABRSM and RSL.

We can start right at the beginning or jump in at your preferred level.

I can show you some simple tools to demystify the roots of music theory, using the stave and piano to visualise, explore and practice to help you accomplish a secure foundation in turn supporting your musical development, exam preparation (GCSE/diploma/degree), develop teaching knowledge/practice (F.E/H.E), compositional/repertoire development etc.

Using innovative strategies to enhance the learning experience and (hopefully) make learning music theory fun!

Knowledge of SLS and Kodaly methods (I also hold a HND and BA in Music Performance Vocals (1st), plus extensive live and studio experience as an active singer/songwriter for over 15 years.

Knowledge of RSL grades 1-6 vocal performance repertoire.
