Physics (One-on-one or group tuition) (IB HL and SL, AP, SAT, GCSE, iGCSE, etc.)

-I am currently doing a PhD at Imperial College London

-MSc Biochemistry University of Oxford:I graduated in 2018 with a specialization in virology

-IB diploma 42/45: HL Maths 7/7; HL Physics 7/7; HL Chemistry 7/7; SL Geography 7/7; SL French 7/7; SL Enligsh: 6/7. I graduated in 2014 from United World College of South East Asia East Campus in Singapore

I taught at Oxford Royale Academy teaching Chemistry, Physics, and Academic Writing to students aged 16-18 in groups of 8 to 25 students. In my final years of high school and while studying at Oxford, I tutored students in groups of up to 5. I I specialize in preparing students for IB, A-levels, or IGCSEs exams, but I also have experience tutoring students as young as 8 years old.

My approach varies depending on the student’s needs and learning style. I push my students to think independently and to apply abstract concepts to real-world scenarios. I start with topics that the student is fairly comfortable with, progressing slowly to new and more complex areas as their understanding grows. I tend to use past exam paper questions on a particular topic to check understanding as we're going through the topic. Once a student has grasped a topic, I shift my focus to exam technique: what to look for in exam questions, common pitfalls, and how to start tackling the more challenging questions. I believe that a clear and systematic approach is essential when tacking exams in the sciences.

About Me

I am a 23-year-old Belgian-Irish student who has just started a 4 year PhD at Imperial College London in the research area "The Molecular and Cellular Basis of Infection” with a focus on viruses.

I grew up a little all over the world having been born in South Africa and having lived in Swaziland, Poland, Bosnia, Belgium, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Timor Leste, and Singapore where I completed my International Baccalaureate at the United World College. After completing my IB in 2014, I moved to Oxford to attend a 4 year-integrated Master’s course in Biochemistry at the University of Oxford. After graduating from Oxford in the summer of 2018, I moved to Munich Germany for a virology internship at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. In February 2019 I began tutoring full time before the start of my PhD in October 2019.

I am an extremely active person and enjoy a variety of sports. I used to sail competitively internationally in the Laser 4.7 and Laser Radial Classes, and still sail during the holidays. Since being at university my love for rugby has also grown. However given my susceptibility to injury and clumsiness, I now only stick to Touch Rugby. I also boulder/rock climb as often as I can.

I have experience teaching and tutoring students aged 10-19 and I am comfortable with the iGCSE, GCSE, IB, A-Level, and EB (European Baccalaureate) syllabuses. I have in-depth experience tutoring both the iGCSE and IB in Maths, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Geography. My approach varies depending on the student’s needs and learning style. I push my students to think independently and to apply abstract concepts to real-world scenarios. I start with topics that the student is fairly comfortable with, progressing quickly to new and more complex areas as their understanding grows. I tend to use past exam paper questions on a particular topic to check understanding as we're going through the topic. For IB and the IGCSE, I have made summary notes on each unit topic and have compiled past exam paper questions on that topic with answers. Once a student has grasped a topic, I shift my focus to exam technique: what to look for in exam questions, common pitfalls, and how to start tackling the more challenging questions. I believe that a clear and systematic approach is essential when studying for exams in the sciences.

Education

I am currently doing a PhD in infectious disease at Imperial College London. I graduated from the University of Oxford with a Masters degree in Biochemistry in June 2018 and a bachelor degree in June 2017. I completed my IB diploma in 2014 receiving 42/45 points, and 7/7 in Higher Level Maths, Physics, and Chemistry and Standard Level Geography and French.

Experience / Qualifications

Tutoring Experience:
I have over 5 years of tutoring experience in Maths, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Geography. I tutored part time during my undergraduate years at university, and I tutored full time post-graduation from February 2019-September 2019. During my time in Munich, I built up an international tutoring network of over 15 full time students. Many of my students attend international schools and I have tutored the following subjects: IB HL and SL Chemistry, IB HL Physics, IB HL and SL Biology, IB HL and SL Maths, IB SL Maths Studies, iGCSE double and triple science, iGCSE 0580 and 0607 Maths, iGCSE Geography, and iGCSE French. I have also tutored several students who follow the European Baccalaureate programme in Maths, Chemistry, and Biology. I have had 2 students under the age of 14, to help support them in Maths and general sciences.

Teaching Experience:
I worked as a teacher at Oxford Royale Academy in Oxford immediately after graduation. I taught Chemistry, Physics and Academic writing to classes of students aged 16-19. The class sizes were between 5-25 students. I really enjoy teaching a classroom of students, but I prefer the more personalised teaching approaches I can use with smaller groups of students.

Physics course: working methods, monitoring and permanent evaluation
From the introduction to physical sciences to the Bac through competitions or patents such as CAP, BFEM, BT, .... we offer complete and very accessible courses for any profile of learners in chemistry and physical. We will explain the course and then concretize by exercises of application. Also suggest series of exercises of increasing degree of difficulty if the student does not already have one. From this the learner will be able to fill in his gaps and master his lessons well and then apply them as necessary. We carry out a regulated follow-up of the progress according to the program. Homework is prepared regardless of its nature: home or control. There are also permanent exchanges with the parents in order to better find the methods and solutions specific to each student. Thank you

Excellence Math, Physics, Chemistry - 19 average - New program 2022
Give your child the future he deserves. Graduated from Arts et Métiers ParisTech / 20/20 in mathematics at the Bac / preparatory class / Private teacher for 10 years Do you want to significantly increase your child's mathematical average? Do you want it to integrate a selective course? Do you want it to become autonomous? For 5 years, I have helped more than 30 French students in difficulty from middle school (sixth, fifth, fourth, third) and high school (second, first, final) to achieve their goals (good average, patent, bac, PREPA) and to regain self-confidence. My method in 3 points: - short term, significantly increase the average by assimilating the course and preparing for the next tests (assimilating the course, writing sheets, training in standard exercises, anticipating the teacher's expectations and test questions, having writing methods) - medium term, integrate reasoning and working methods (learn to work regularly in this order: assimilation, training exercise, test preparation and test analysis passes) - long-term, set a goal, build the steps to achieve this goal, become aware of the SIMPLICITY of math, have confidence in your abilities, unlock your potential) The formula: one or two sessions of 1h30/2h per week for the assimilation of the course and to prepare for the test. - Classes on Google Meet - Virtual whiteboard to assimilate faster - Library of 10 books online - More than 1000 exos online Questions ? Contact me and I will answer you.

Private maths, physics and French lessons and homework help, Tutors 5 years of experience
We are two math and physics tutors and help with homework for all levels up to university. We give our private lessons online via zoom. We have decided to create a common profile in order to best meet the demands of our students and thus ensure the most adequate support according to their profile and expectations. Alejandro: I am a master's student in sustainable development. Before that I obtained my Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering at EPFL. I offer math / physics courses for students who need help to follow their courses as well as those in search of improvement. Elea: I graduated from the school of speech therapy (speech therapy) at La Sorbonne University in Paris in July. Before my training, I obtained my scientific baccalaureate with honors, and completed a year of preparation for speech therapy competitions. I thus have a scientific and literary background allowing me to support your child in all the subjects of his school curriculum. I would like to point out that I am offering private lessons here in a school setting and not speech therapy sessions which are part of the care. Nevertheless, my training allows me to demonstrate a pedagogy taking into account the profile of your child. Comprehensive and methodical, we personalize our lessons to be able to provide solid support to our students. Our courses allow you to acquire methods of reflection and resolution of exercises to better tackle these subjects. Our goal is to help our students gain confidence and skills in the targeted subjects, so they can face the exams with confidence. Are you not convinced of the effectiveness of online courses? We invite you to ask us for more information on the course of the distance learning courses, guaranteeing you a safe learning.

Wouter
Tutor for mathematics for 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree. Physics for 3rd degree
I have now completed my second year of mathematics at UHasselt without re-exams. I have a stage diploma and am a former leader of the scouts (so I have some experience with children). I see too many children who have an unnecessarily difficult time with math. I personally see all this happening due to a lack of applications in everyday life. I want to change this by showing them these applications and explaining it all a bit more easily. I will first take a general look at where the problems are and then continue to specifically address them until they are resolved.

Gaetan
Engineer & PhD student teaches maths physics sciences English French
Hello, I am an engineer graduated from a high school (INSA Lyon in France), and I obtained my scientific baccalaureate with honors. I am French and I teach in Dubai. I have more than 6 years of experience in private lessons and have very good results with my students. I teach science courses: math, physics, chemistry, engineering, mechanics, etc. Given the current context, I want to help the students to progress faster and to prepare them well so that they do not have delays. When we run into difficulties, it is sometimes because school methods do not work well for us. This is why I have adopted for 6 years a methodology different from the standard, and which has largely proven its worth. I am interested in cognitive science and effective learning techniques, and I apply the methods recommended by the best researchers in neuroscience. This allows the student to progress rapidly in the following 4 areas: logic and comprehension, memorization, motivation, and concentration. Have a good day, Gaëtan

IB Math & Physics [HL/SL] for international school students
I graduated from the IB programme myself in 2017, therefore I'm very much familiar with the problems that students face during IB Math & Physics. I'm currently studying Aerospace Engineering at TU Delft, and looking back, I realize that most of the problems I encountered during the IB would have been very easily solved with the help for a tutor, since my teachers didn't have the time to help me individually. As such, I'm here to help you with each of the different topics in Math & Physics, as well as providing some ideas for your IA, and also some advice about studying for the IB in general. I'm also available to help in-between lessons, for any questions about homework or practice exams that you may have, which I believe is actually the most valuable part of having a personal tutor.

🚀EVERY CHILD IS A MATHS GENIUS | British Tutor 🇬🇧
.. [British Maths Tutor] ... When I was a young child, I believed I was not a mathematical person. It wasn't until I met an amazing teacher at age 15 that I discovered my mathematical genius and my life was changed forever. I'm eternally grateful to that teacher. My teacher knew that self-image and self-belief is the key to unlock your child's mathematical abilities. Everyone is good at maths, but we all have different styles of thinking. Bad teachers teach every child the same way. My job is find your child's style of mathematics and allow him to discover that for himself. When he discovers that, he will begin to enjoy the beauty and power of mathematics ...and then you will see as the grades begin to soar. 👉Click the blue "Contact Oliver" button above and lets discuss how we can unlock your child's mathematical talents! 😊
