This lesson is especially for the hobby-musician (in the making). My goal is to teach the student how to play in playing the Saxophone, be it in classical music, pop, jazz, ... of my students, I expect them to have fun playing music and that they show it by doing their best without having to be a rut to play the instrument.

In May 2019 I graduated from the conservatory of Leuven with 93%. That means that I have been playing the saxophone for more than ten years now. I started teaching privately in 2018, both to children, young people and adults. I received very positive feedback on this, and then continued this in two different music schools and on Apprentus. For me, the focus is mainly on learning the saxophone at a pace adapted to the student's needs and experience, rather than performance-oriented. I am a passionate and experienced saxophone teacher who has honed a highly efficient and patient approach to music instruction. I am motivated and pro-active and enjoy working with people to reach their goals. I'm looking for student's who not only want to learn a great technique for singing but whom also want to find and develop their own unique sound so they can express themselves through the art of song and tell a story. I am a trained singer- songwriter & professional musician with a BA (hons) in Composition. Originally from london I moved to Brussels to do my masters degree. I am a trained singing with a level of grade 8, I have also spent the last 6 years touring as a front women and also a backing singing with various artists around europe, including 1 top 10 artist. I understand that although it's great to have a strong technique it's also about letting go and having confidence in your ability so you can relax in the moment. Studied jazz musician gives saxophone lessons, focused on the joy of making music. You decide where to go. I'm on stage full-time. I am currently involved in a large number of projects with various musical styles. My references include an appearance on the Dutch television station L1mburg TV, as well as a concert on the public radio program NPO Jazz in the Netherlands, as well as appearances at various jazz festivals, including North Sea Jazz Rotterdam, JazzOut Limburg and the Göttingen Jazz Festival. Music has accompanied me since early childhood. I started playing the flute when I was five and the saxophone when I was nine. After gaining a lot of experience in big bands, funk/soul bands, rock bands and other projects, my interests culminated in studying jazz and saxophone at the Maastricht Conservatory, which I successfully completed in 2021. About the lesson: It's not just about jazz. You determine the style of music. Whether pop, funk or soul, I'm open to everything. Reflection is the be-all and end-all. I'll teach you music theory and everything to do with sax. The feel and the fun of making music is always the focus. You decide which direction we take. If desired, improvisation plays a major role. The course is suitable for all ages and levels. I take the time to adapt to you and to fulfill your wishes e.g. music style, direction etc.. I have been writing songs now for 30 years, including being asked to write lyrics for local charities and for special occasions. Songwriting theory and musical theory and compositions can often take the fun out of lifting and playing music - whether its a guitar, microphone, drum kit! These 1 hour sessions give the customer an opportunity to explore musical styles, rhythms, while personalising a song for their own use. Every song created will be supplied in an electronic copy, with the lyrics displayed in a certificate explaining the background to the song/ lyrics/ tune etc. Option1 : Tutor and customer discuss the scope of the song - whwether the song is to be personal - about someone, somewhere, a particular event - whether the song is to be uplifting or melancholy, with distortion, or smooth? These personalised songs can be so well received; especially with a copy of a certificate explaining why it was written, when it was written and for whom. Option 2: The Random Song - pick some random words and create a masterpiece; see the story come to life as the song verses merge into a meaningful chorus.... or let the fun begin, and let the children ( small and grown up) have loads of ideas which randomly converge into YOUR song! Can be done in person as part of a 'party' or online over Teams etc. No two sessions are ever the same; and multiple members can dial in if you want them to share in the Songwriting process! Every session comes with an e version of the recorded song, and an electronic copy of the certificate, showing the lyrics and details of the songwriter, date created/recorded.
