I am an American living in Leuven, Belgium. I used to be a cheerleader back home in Louisiana, and have always worked with children. I have a master's and bachelor's degree in history and am currently completing a second master's in social and cultural anthropology. Teaching is one of my passions and I would love to be able to share that while living here.

I run private English classes for individuals and siblings. The sessions are designed for beginners and elementary students and are packed with active games, focused activities and stories - all in English. I use reward charts and positive reinforcement to keep students motivated, and use lots of images, hand gestures and expression to help them learn as quickly as possible. The classes are designed for 4 - 7 year olds with a basic understanding / no understanding of English. They can be adapted for older students. I am a British native speaker with an English teaching qualification (CELTA - Pass A: highest grade) from International House London and a BA (Hons) Performing Arts degree (First class: highest grade) from Bath Spa University in England. I have been helping students learn English since 2012, including spending a year teaching English through theatre and creative activities in Beijing.

The course will be adapted to the student's goals, either help with academic classes or to develop speaking, listening, and reading skills. Improve your English with one on one theory classes and practice. I have a TOEFL certificate and an American education. I speak French and Arabic.

As you acquire a new skill or enhance the proficiency of a new language skill, you will be guided in grammar, vocabulary, conversations, dictions and oral articulations to aide you in communicating better with other English speakers worldwide...conversational dates, outdoor excursions & day-day routine exercise can be requested. I have a master's degree in Mathematics and have been a college-level math teacher and a high school math teacher. I have a lot of experience helping students with math problems. If your problem is one of these: Solving algebraic or geometric problems Solving problems on Statistics, probability or Operation Research Solving problems on Calculus, or abstract algebra Translating logical statements to formulas Finding motivations to study mathematics Finding your own method or style for solving math problems Sure, I can help you and I will enjoy doing it.

Economics classes for University level students will be based on student's needs (some suggestions: Econometrics, Microeconomics, Quantitative Economics). For school students, it can involve advanced learning or basic Economic knowledge (aligned to student's needs). English classes will involve writing and speaking practice (based on the student's existing knowledge). I tend to explain things pretty well. I always try to assign homework for further practice. Times can be discussed with me and I do accommodate students based on mutual availability.

I studied Latin Sciences at Sint-Jan Berchmanscollege in Brussels and I am currently in my 3rd bachelor's degree in Applied Economics (TEW) at the KUL. Mathematics, science subjects, and languages can be challenging. I therefore offer my services to provide additional support to students in secondary school. Together with my students, I go over the course material, do sufficient exercises and discuss with them what the right study approach is. As a native English speaking American, I aim to improve my student's breadth of grammar and understanding of the English language through one-on-one and group lessons, advancing from any level. Having spent all my life in the United States, I also can train my students on the American vernacular and culture. I have a minor in English Literature from a college in Chicago.

I specialize in effective communication skills. With english as my native language, i also teach presentation skills, build motivation and look for ways to bring out the best side in my students. I have been a trainer for IELTS, a speaker and mentor at UNODC, and an AIESEC teacher for softskills. This class is a base for people aspiring to be brought to their best capabilities while being emotionally hindered, and the class also promotes the accurate use of english and effective communication. I currently work as a private language teacher in Belgium and I have a good level of English. As I am not a native speaker, I do not give advanced lessons. People from any age, including kids, can follow my English lessons for levels A1, A2 and B1.

For the teaching purposes, throughout the classes, I will use different highly-rated textbooks of local editions, effective YouTube channels, interesting articles. I will cover main functional areas of English grammar and vocabulary within different areas and will make sure that you start speaking since the first class already, since Practice Makes Perfect and English is not so difficult as it may seem at first! The goals, needs, expectations will be discussed in person with every student and adapted towards personality. The program and classes content will also depend on the prior mentioned factors. Het is mogelijk in deze les te focussen op Engels spreken in plaats van schrijven, zodat je snel een vlotte taalstudent wordt. Ook kunnen we verder focussen op een meer schoolgerichte aanpak als je je bijvoorbeeld wil voorbereiden op examens.
