Online chess lessons for beginner and intermediate level. Learn the basics and improve quickly!

It doesn't matter if you don't know anything about this subject and you want to get into it or if you already know how to play and you want to master your skills, I can help you with that! It's scientifically proven that chess helps you to develop and strengthen many aptitudes such as: efficient planning, creativity, self-criticism, discipline, logical reasoning, problem solving and concentration. That's why playing chess is so good for mental health or children and adults. But also, and even more important, it's fun!!

I've been playing chess since I was 5 years old, competing at an international level and being awarded many times. I've also given chess lessons since I was 15 until now, when I'm 25.

With my classes, you'll learn all the strategies and tactics while focusing in the three parts of a chess game: the opening, the middle game and the endgame.

Webcam classes are totally feasible for chess both for adults and kids! Thankfully Covid isn't a problem for learning chess. In fact, one of my young students reached the 2020 Under 8 Terefinal of the UK Chess Challenge after only a year of classes!

About Me

I'm a 25 year-old Spanish university student who is openminded and hardworking.
I love playing chess since I was a child, that is why I also enjoy teaching people how to play and introduce them into this rewarding game.

With my classes, you'll learn all the strategies and tactics while focusing in the three parts of a chess game: the opening, the middle game and the endgame. My teaching method combinines the study of the three parts always using examples from Grand Masters (learning from the best). I also know how to combine the lessons with interesting stories related to chess that will make the class more entertaining.

The kind of students I like are those that want to explore the enriching world of chess and will to learn. I don't mind the age of the student.

It doesn't matter if you or your child depart from a very basic level, I will help you to learn everything you need to know to become an advance player in a very short time.

Education

I'm a graduate in Economics and International Relations and currently studying a master's degree in Conflict, Governance and Development in The University of York.
I speak english perfectly as certified by my C1 on the IELTS English Test but also proved in many experiences on english speaking countries. For instance, I worked with children for a month on the Counselor in Traning Program of the YMCA Camp Ralph S. Mason in New Jersey (USA).

Experience / Qualifications

I have the official diploma from the Chess Federation of Madrid that qualifies my as a Chess Instructor.
I have also gained many experience by teaching at both schools and private lessons.
I have prepared children for school and regional competitions, including chess leagues.

I am utterly delighted that I have met Ignacio. I have tried to learn Chess on several occasions with different instructors. For whatever reason I just haven’t been able to understand the game enough to actually enjoy it. However, within just a few lessons of working with Ignacio I have completely fallen in love with the game of chess. Ignacio has a certain skill in that he makes something quite complicated, seem very very easy. I have found that I have picked up techniques and I have a couple of simple openings that are already winning me games, and filling me full of confidence. I would strongly recommend Ignacio to anyone that wanted to learn Chess. I for one will be continually using him for a very very long time.
Very friendly and funny, my 8 year old Son enjoyed the lesson
I've just had my first lesson with Ignacio and it was a most instructive and pleasant experience. I'm already looking forward to the next lesson.
Very good contact with my 9y old son who is happy and keen to renew
Excellent first lesson

Have more fun playing chess - Internet courses with a French coach (Français, English, Deutsch)
I strongly believe in learning by understanding, not by pure memorization. We will study all phases of the game (openings, middlegames and endgames), focusing on your main areas of improvement. I will adapt to your request, while offering you tailor-made methods. Thus, I will be able to support you to reach your objectives. I can give lessons via Internet (Skype, Teamviewer, Discord...). See you soon on the chessboard!

Learn to play chess well, all levels, all ages
FIDE Master of Chess (part of the Swiss National) gives chess courses at all levels and all ages. My goal is to teach you how to play better and improve your concentration with this old game. The course is divided into three parts: A theoretical part where I show you typical tactical topics, then the student solves exercises and finally we play games.

Olivier
An International Master comes to your home to teach you how to play chess!
Do you often wonder why you can't progress? Because you are looking right to left for information, advice and books to read but you get scattered ... Taking private lessons will save you a lot of time because I went through all these steps, I know what works and what which does not work. So I can explain and quickly teach you the essential concepts and which books to study in order to be effective. Whether you want to compete, beat your grandfather, your little sister or if you want to beat the pretentious boys in your class: this announcement is for you! I started teaching chess professionally in 2003. I have had over 200 students of all ages (5 to 87) and all levels (from beginner to master candidate). I mainly give private lessons but I also give lessons in clubs. I coached several regions for the French youth championships for 4 years. I gave several simultaneous (about 25 players), I even had a chess stand in a shopping center for a whole weekend where I played free games against the public. Recent examples: in November 2019 I had 2 new students (29 and 30 years old) who were beginners. They were both 1150 and 1200 on Lichess. One decided to take 3 hours of lessons per week and the other 4 hours. 1 year later, they arrived at 2000 on the same site! Course of the course: If you compete or if you only play on the internet: We will analyze your games in order to assess your strengths, your weaknesses and see how you perceive the game in order to jointly define a progression plan according to your profile and your availability. I prepare my lessons with care: - A complete and efficient opening repertoire, adapted to your style, with whites as with blacks - Plan construction in the game environment with the study of classic games: dynamic game, positional game, prophylaxis, decision making, calculation of variants and how to win a winning game. - Many tactical exercises - And of course the study of the essential finals in order to master the endgames. When I teach children, my approach is above all fun. I advance at the pace of the student so that he learns the different rules and techniques while having fun! My lessons boil down to this: good humor and efficiency! Presentation : Hello everyone ! My name is Olivier, I learned chess at the age of 8 and I joined a club at 12. At 24 I became a Master of the International Chess Federation (Master FIDE) and at 25 (in 2006) I became an International Master (2400 elo). In France, I am around 200th French player out of 55,000 licensees. Competition level, I played in interclub in all existing divisions (from National 5 to top 12). I have also participated in more than 600 tournaments including many international tournaments. I have won over 40 tournaments whether they are blitz tournaments, rapids or classic paced tournaments. For the rest, I have a license in Psychology which allows me to give practical advice to my students to approach the parts and help them best to fight their problems. I also do tutoring so I am used to working with children with whom I have very good contact. So I understand very well their ways of reasoning. See you soon !

Chess for All Ages & Levels from a FIDE Master and former national player
Hi! I am a FIDE Master and a professional chess player who plays in the Turkish Super League regularly. I have also been teaching chess for 5 years to pupils of various ages and levels. I enjoy both activities, playing and teaching, immensely and that's why I've quit my engineering job and devoted myself fully to teaching chess! My other chess-related activities include writing articles for a chess magazine and several chess websites as well as doing Youtube streams on chess. Chess is a discipline that requires active learning. So lessons are more useful when they're focused on problem-solving. I am building the lesson structure on active learning and the last 10 minutes are spared for practical play. On the other hand, if there is a special subject you want to work on, it's also possible for us to focus just on that topic. Of course, I'll give you assignments after each lesson and expect your full commitment.

Léa
Private chess lessons with Léa, fast learning and fun guaranteed!
When I was younger, I enrolled in all the chess lessons that my elementary school offered. Quickly, I ranked in the top 3 in Quebec and Canada, until the age of 15, when I stopped playing. I now want to pass on my knowledge in this wonderful game! We will correct the assignment given at the end of the previous lesson, then we will see new material in each lesson. I will answer all the student's questions and give them an assignment (optional but recommended) at the end of the course.

Alexis
Chess lessons for all levels, from opening to final
No matter whether you have just discovered chess for yourself or have been familiar with the game for some time and want to acquire some theory, I'll help you! My lessons include all the basics of chess, as well as tactical exercises and openings. Above all, however, I orient myself towards the student, because fun and interest are the most important things in my class. We analyze games together and learn how the positional game works or practice openings and tactical motifs, depending on the level. I am a 20 year old student who has been playing chess with a passion for 7 years. I don't have an official FIDE rating, but it should be ~ 2000. Classes can take place at your home or online via Zoom. Write me a message or just give me a call if you are interested. Best regards, Alexis
