UmbertoUniversity researcher tutoring in Mathematics and Physics. Secondary school/university and casual learning. Including Cambridge STEP prep.
Hi! I am currently a post-doctoral researcher in computational biophysics, machine learning and computational biology at EPFL. I maintain two Python libraries for Topological Data Analysis and pyflagser.
I have previously been a post-doctoral researcher in Mathematical Physics at the University of Bern, where my research was concerned with the interplay between quantum mechanics and Einstein’s theory of general relativity.
I have been teaching at various levels since I was a PhD student at the University of York (UK), and more recently I was part of the cutting-edge educational project Isaac Physics in Physics/Maths/Chemistry at the University of Cambridge.
Here is my teaching experience so far:
- As a PhD student, I taught seminars in several of the undergraduate modules taught by the Department of Mathematics. In total, I have around 500 contact hours of experience in seminar teaching and marking, all of which I have found to be very rewarding.
- As a PhD student, I jointly ran a course for talented high school student wishing to be admitted at high-rank universities, and in particular wishing to pass interviews and the STEP admission paper for entry at Cambridge.
- As part of the Isaac Physics project, I created or helped create some of the online content such as theory pages, problems and books. In particular I helped put together a book on GCSE physics and one on A-level chemistry. Again as part of Isaac Physics, I gave seminars to a variety of high school students and interacted with local teachers to communicate the Isaac Physics philosophy and methodology. I also have some experience giving online YouTube webinars.
- Throughout, I have been offering one-to-one tuition to A-level/IB students, university students and adult casual learners.
I am happy to travel within about 4-5km of my postcode 1008 in Prilly. Alternatively, I can offer webcam lessons at a discounted price.

The purpose of this class would be to identify the level of the student, identify missing knowledge, set target level and gradually and systematically fill in the gaps. This can be done in the following areas:
1) Mechanics (physics)
2) Electromagnetism (physics)
3) Atomic physics
4) Infinitesimal calculus: derivatives, integration, differential equation (math)
5) Probability theory (math)

LuciComprehend maths and german without taking your head
Often maths and German are difficult subjects in school as well as in the gym. We do not like these materials and we leave them out.
But when you start to understand properly, you start having fun doing homework and reviewing tests and exs.
I will give you all my knowledge to better understand these topics.
Evasupport course in maths, physics and chemistry in Lausanne
Student in the first year of a master's degree in chemical engineering at EPFL, I aim to convey my interest in science.
My goal is to support the student so that he understands his course and is able to do exercises confidently and independently.
First, a quick 'inventory' allows learning to be targeted.
First, the theory is ironed out. The exercises are then approached in a methodical way. Finally, I am a fanatic of the cards to synthesize the important notions!
I am also familiar with the English speaking system (IGCSE)
I remain at your disposal for any questions
NoaEpfl preparation course or tutoring.
Going back to higher education is a difficult stage that requires a lot of work. Having completed my first year of study in mechanical engineering at epfz, I know these challenges and wish to prepare students as well as possible in order to arrive with confidence. I can give courses on the subject taught or simply give advice on the organization and structure of work.
I can also give lessons at other school levels, obviously adapting my teaching to each one.
PaulPrivate lessons in math, science in general and in law (in particular criminal).
Experienced repeater offers private tutoring in any branch of school but with a particularity for math and science courses in general (Chemistry, Biology and Physics). I also offer criminal law courses for those interested.
I adapt easily to the student and target his needs directly so that the course is as personalized as possible.
RobertPrivate lessons for all sciences, school level.
Friendly repeater with 10 years of experience in science education, I offer help, support and tutoring for all levels from primary to university
I am a chemist-physicist and I teach science for more than 10 years in private lessons and in class, matu, pre-matu, university and evening classes. I help my students for chemistry, physics, biology maths and other scientific subjects.
The important thing for me is to give my pupils confidence and finally make them independent.
As a coach or trainer I am an ally, I am not the one who will assess or judge the work of the student in class but the one who will help him, show him the keys and accompany him to the success of his exams or his school year for example.
The important thing for me is to understand how the student works, how he works, and then help him in a way that matches what he / she will find logical or natural.
