I am a 24 year-old HBO student of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam who plays Bassoon. I consider music an essential part of our lives and our culture and, therefore, its learning is necessary so that we can enrich and develop fully as human beings. The bassoon offers lots of remarkable and distinguished qualities, that you can only achieve by learning this particular instrument, with a very characteristic sound.

My name is Mathilde, I am a French violinist, pianist, harpsichordist, producer and composer. I have graduated from the world’s great institutions such as the Royal College of Music London, Manhattan School of Music New-York, Brussels Royal Conservatory, and Paris-Sorbonne University (in musicology). I have been performing concerts around the world in the most prestigious concert halls including the Châtelet Theatre and Seine Musicale (Paris), the National Opera House (Oman) and La Scala (Milan), as well as many other venues in Europe, US, China, Middle-East. During this period of time, I had been playing in the Orchestra Academy of La Scala in Milan for 2 years, and I am currently playing at the Metropole Orkest in Amsterdam. With the experiences I gained over the years - including the teaching experience in the Conservatory of Cambrai (France) - I became an expert in teaching violin and keyboards as well as music theory, including writing and reading scores. I have been teaching to the different age groups and different levels of technical backgrounds (beginner or advanced). I can easily adapt myself to the level of each student to create a synchronicity and help them pursue their goals and wishes. I am there to help them as a teacher and a music coach for their musical career. I can combine different practices and teach basic techniques in repertoire that matches the personality of the student (from classical to contemporary, pop, rock and more). The Bass guitar lessons are given at all levels from beginners to advanced / professionals. The music theory lessons provide insight into how western music theory functions and how it is applied in practice. Exercises are also done to develop the hearing and music theoretical exercises are done on the basis of either piano, guitar or bass guitar. The aim is to understand what the theory behind music is and why it functions that way. The Guitar (or Piano) lessons are only given at beginners level. Composition lessons are for anyone who wishes to compose music, for any instrument, emsemble and/or electronics music. My teaching method combines various approaches and styles, supporting practice with theoretical knowledge, and most important developing creativity and helping the student in making their imagionary visions come real. For each student a different palate of tools is offered, according to the student's musical wishes and ambitions. I teach the basis of western-music composition - theory, harmony, counterpoint, score-reading, solfege, rhythm, analysis and more. Further I suggest broad overview of world, jazz, pop, new/contemporary music, various styles in electronic music (popular and experimental), improvisatory compositions, graphic notation, text and game pieces, music for theater, film and dance and interdicsiplinary works which combine music with other art fields.
