Hi everyone! I'm Federica, 23, Italian and I am a master student.
I love being able to teach and help people improve their language skills, since I am in the first place really keen on languages.
I like having mostly conversations as I believe they are one of the most productive ways of improving a language. However, if you are a beginner, I am a strong believer of learning the grammar first: you will never sound fully confident if you skip the "hard" part!
The people I have tutored so far have improved a lot because they also agreed on concentrating on the grammar first. All my students have become very good at Italian in a relatively short time, and they are all very satisfied.

Being a pianist and a piano teacher, I already have lots of experience with teaching and pedagogical approach with the whole range of ages.

The lesson is intended to meet the student needs: the focus can be on the grammar, conversation or literature. In case of a middle-level speaker, the lesson will cover all four language's abilities: listening, speaking, writing and reading. My suggestion of a well planned lesson is, for any level, to divide it into two parts: grammar first and then conversation (covering all the abilities mentioned above).

If you wish to brush up your Italian, resume a past series of lessons, or simply start from scratch learning Italian, this is the right lesson for you! I like to personalize each class/course according to the needs and goals of my students. My classes are focused on improving the student's communication skills. At beginner and lower intermediate levels, I prefer using a text book/ student book in the first part of the class. I usually use "Nuovissimo Progetto Italiano" and "Arrivederci" by Edilingua, or "Nuovo Espresso" and "Dieci" by Alma Publishing. For the second part of the lesson, I create engaging contents using original videos, press articles, extracts from blogs and social media, literary texts. If the students do not feel comfortable using Italian from scratch, I can switch to English, German, or Dutch. The course fee includes the correction of home assignments.
