Hello there, and welcome!

Regularly rated 5 STARS on Google Page and a creator of a well-loved community of learner violinists, my name is Cheryl, and I offer highly unique and very enjoyable lessons to anyone who wants to challenge themselves with the violin. Do not be fooled - it's a tough instrument to play well! With my guidance and a special interest in postural health, you will quickly learn the basics with some regular effort. I especially encourage students to meet with other students in order to get to know each other on a human level.

An alum of the ABRSM, Suzuki, American and European conservatory systems (Masters with Magna cum Laude), and relentlessly studying to become better and better every week, I filter through 'The Book' to find the most effective and efficient way for the individual learner. We will find out what sounds appeal to you, and teach your unique 'voice' to come out.

With a little technique and a LOT of good taste, there's no knowing where your violin can take you! Come yourself, or with a friend or even with your child, and explore the infinite depths of real music-making! (Pssst: It's never really what we expect in the beginning!)

About Me

Enthusiastic, rigorous, observant, and having had a history of tendinitis due to over-practising in the past, I am highly alert to tensions and finding the way to optimal performance.

At the same time, it is a strong belief of mine that Music (capital-M!) is a great teacher to all of us. In order to make a decent sound on the violin, dozens of decisions have to be made, sometimes in the split-second. By welcoming the violin into our lives, we welcome the highly personalised tools of problem-solving, spatial awareness and precise physical coordination, all the while enjoying the fruits of the masters that came before us.

Turkish reed flute is an essential instrument of Turkish Classcial Music. It has a deep and dense culture dating from 13. century around. If you want to learn about how to perform it you first need a teacher educated by masters on this field. As of many teachers you can find online but you make sure that not every tutor meets with traditional style. Solfege and method are inseperable parts of the lessons. So for beginners and intermediate students must follow a compotent tutor to learn about the way of classic form.

Mia is a Montenegrin violinist. She has traveled the world, starting with studies at the University of Music in Montenegro, to China, at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. She was a member of the National Symphony Orchestra of Montenegro, but her desire for discovery took her to other spheres. In the meantime, during her studies in Montenegro, she was invited to participate several times in the Young Euro Classic Orchestra, playing at the Berlin Konzerthaus, with renowned musicians like: Liana Issakadze, Heinrich Schiff, Anreas Reiner. In 2014, she met her teacher Anton Martynov who gave her many opportunities to develop as a violinist, in Paris in France and recently in Belgium. In 2023 she obtained another Master Didactique in Royal Conservatory in Mons, Belgium.
