About Me

My name is Laurens and I am a passionate singing teacher specialized in pop and jazz. With a background as an experienced producer and multi-instrumentalist, I have had the privilege of working with several (semi)-professional artists in Belgium. My teaching approach is aimed at guiding both beginners who want to explore the world of music and advanced students who aspire to a professional career in music. I strongly believe in providing a tailor-made experience for each student, focusing on their individual needs and questions. My lessons are a balance between developing technical skills such as projection, breathing and pronunciation, and exploring the emotional connection with music. Authenticity is central to my approach because I believe everyone has a unique story to tell through music. As a multi-instrumentalist (drums, keys, trumpet, bass, vocals) I am able to share a wide range of musical insights and techniques, and I look forward to embarking on a journey of discovery with you and helping you find your own find a voice and make it heard.

From their attic studio in Brussels, Laurens, a self-made producer, singer/songsmith, gives life to a unique, cinematic and melancholic universe in which classical songwriting is combined with ambient electronica and soul.
After several warmly received songs by radio and press (StuBru, Radio Een, Willy, Focus Knack, Humo), a not unnoticed passage in Wim Lybaert's Colombus and an instrumental EP under the title 'As You Fall into the Sky', it is time for a new chapter for Low Hill. After fifteen years, the familiar Antwerp is exchanged for Brussels. Here Laurens can test out new material in unknown territory and since the beginning of 2023 he can also call himself 'artist-in-residence' of music center Volta.
