The methodology consists of getting directly involved in music, taking the instrument with confidence, enjoying music and learning, and being cautious and delicate in technique and learning. The most important thing is to stay motivated, to enjoy the process and to train regularly, for which I will be your partner and your teacher throughout the process. If the student wishes, we can deepen the musical theory, which helps a lot to understand music from a more complete point of view.

Guitar for everyone, learn from a highly experienced conservatoire musician!
Hello, my name is Samuel and I come from México. I am a classical guitarist with 10+ years of teaching experience. I am currently doing a masters in classical guitar performance at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. I have the philosophy of teaching the student to teach himself so that he doesn’t have to rely on the teacher in order to make progress. I’m comfortable with all styles of music and love teaching to people of all ages and backgrounds! If this sounds like something you’d like to try we can have a trial lesson to see if you feel comfortable and happy with it and go from there. Just get in touch!

Luca
Acoustic & Electric Guitar Lessons / Ukulele Lessons
Want to learn to play the guitar? Whether you're just starting out or want to refresh and perfect what you've already learned, I'm here to help you improve and motivate you. I'm passionate about music and have been playing guitar for over 10 years. I've been giving lessons since 2015 and have already met many very different profiles. My course is for all ages (kids, teens, adults, seniors). And it's never too late to start, unlike what you often hear! I can adapt to many styles, and my musical tastes are quite diverse (rock, pop, folk, variety, reggae, hip hop, classical, etc.). Here's an example of topics that can be covered while learning songs: - Positioning for comfortable practice with minimum fatigue. - Chords: discover the basic chords to play your first notes. - Rhythm: work on rhythm with simple, repeatable exercises. - Musical styles: explore different musical genres with songs suitable for beginners. My approach is all about practice, not theory. The aim is to have fun while learning new techniques as the songs increase in difficulty. And as not everyone starts out with the same level or the same objectives, I naturally adapt the course to suit each person's desires and progress. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them!

Paul
Classical guitar lessons for all types of levels
Graduated from various Conservatories in France and the Netherlands and rich in several years of teaching, I offer classical guitar lessons for all levels. My objective is to establish an exchange with the student, to seek with him the technical, musical, physical means, to develop a coherent musical discourse. My lessons are also a way for the student to conceive and then fully express all his musical abilities. I adapt to all types of repertoire depending on the choice of the student: South American music, classical, variety etc. Working mainly with scores, it also seems essential to me to introduce notions of musical training during lessons. I offer lessons at my home but can also come to the student's home.

Apollonia Maria
Beginner to Advanced Lessons for Guitar Players for all ages
After dedicating 14 years to mastering the guitar, I've developed a comprehensive understanding of guitar playing, encompassing both foundational techniques and advanced music theory. In these lessons, I'll be sharing the wealth of knowledge I've accumulated over this extensive period of learning. I will be covering a broad range of guitar techniques, including fingerpicking, strumming techniques, major and minor chords, power chords, barre chords, riffs, scales, finger warm-ups, practising any song of your choice, string bending, pull-offs, hammer-ons, harmonics, strumming patterns, and slides. All are provided with diagrams etc. For music theory, I will begin by covering the fundamentals, including notes, strings, and the musical 12-note chromatic scale alphabet on the guitar. As students progress, we will delve into more advanced topics such as tones, semitones, chord progressions, circle of fifths, scale formulas and chord terminology. Additionally, we will explore concepts like consonance and dissonance and pitch practice to develop relative pitch. (You have to be born with perfect pitch but you can learn relative pitch with practise!) Then advancing to jazz theory, we'll explore; jazz scale formulas, jazz chord progressions, swing techniques, major and minor 7th chords, major and minor 9th chords, dominant, augmented, half-diminished, diminished, sus2 and sus4 chords. And then jazz scales and the art of re-harmonising a song (changing the chords to jazz chords). All music theory will be intertwined with guitar practice as both can't be done without the other! One observation I've made while learning guitar through lessons is that information is often doled out incrementally, making it feel like a breadcrumb trail. Guitar knowledge and skills seem to be closely guarded and usually gatekept unless actively sought out. I strongly believe that the extensive knowledge I've acquired over 14 years of playing should be fruitfully shared in a more comprehensive and accessible manner, of course while being tailored to the pace of the students. In essence, I'm convinced that the depth of my understanding I've gained could be effectively conveyed and learnt within a two-year timeframe without including the time it takes to master the skill with practice, of course, I'd like to make it easier for people to learn the guitar and the theory behind it. I have also graduated with a distinction for my Music Performance and Production UAL Level 3 Course and have experience teaching guitar in London and Bristol before. The lessons will be taught in English so practising your English with me is also a plus, a foundational knowledge of English is required to take the lessons.

Guitar workshops: personalized lessons / private training
Folk or classical acoustic guitar. The teaching philosophy is adapted to the level of each individual, according to the pace of work and motivation. For example, for beginners: Technique of the plectrum or fingers, coordination and correction of the right and left hand. Learning basic chords, simple themes, simple rhythms, reading tablatures (...). For intermediaries: development of rhythm, construction of chords, writing of tablatures, basic notions of harmony (...). Depending on your goals, you can learn, if you wish, to play 60 to 80% of current music from the first lessons, which often use the same chords and the same techniques. The objectives take into consideration the following points: -Study of various playing techniques, chords, harmony, music of your choice, rhythm, with reading of tablature, teaching structured around the repertoire you like, technique of developing the musical ear - Discovery of the neck, notes and basic positions of open chords - Left / right hand coordination and rhythm exercises for the right hand - Learning of different pieces of your choice - Left hand control exercises, speed and precision - Learning arpeggios - Work around muscle memory - Learning improvisation, musical play with others - Ear training: use your ears to find chords, melodies, sounds and techniques used -Spend a pleasant moment of exchange, without unnecessary institutional pressure, while obtaining concrete results -Understand and discover the many facets of an exciting and user-friendly instrument - Benefit from personalized advice on your posture and certain pitfalls to avoid when starting alone -Adjust and clarify your self-taught knowledge - Learn tablatures / tabs & in English. Note : - Possibility to use the guitar available on site, during the test phase. - As our teacher is also a singing teacher, it is possible to combine the two disciplines: guitar + vocal instrument, and to work on synchronization, style and accuracy. - Possibility of offering this course (birthday, party, Christmas, event ...) to the person of your choice. THE TEACHER : Trained in Grande Ecole post-preparatory classes & Ivy League university in the United States, our teacher has specialized and has worked for more than 15 years, in Europe and North America, in the field, in renowned international public and private establishments, with careful pedagogy and methodology as the watchwords. PLACES : - Locations: Geneva-Lausanne-Friborg-Neuchâtel-Montreux-Bâle-Sion-Sierre-Morges-Bienne. But currently, only by videoconference in accordance with national recommendations on Covid. These sessions also seem to be perfectly unanimous since they have the advantages of direct (example: quality of the interaction), without its disadvantages (ex: loss of travel time), with additional advantages (ex: of notes on the chat, which can be reread afterwards). In this context, these videoconference sessions for which you have requested me, seem to arouse a certain enthusiasm (and a certain enthusiasm). At your request, I therefore continue to offer them.
