The class is meant for those who wish to enter the world of performance art - an experimental art form that originated in the 1960s in the United States. My intention with the lessons is to teach a student how to begin an independent artistic practice as a performance artist through practical exercises, readings, and analysis of performances (on photos, video and in events we would visit together). The basic theory and history of performance art are introduced so the student can get oriented in the respective art context. If desired, the class can go deeper in theory with the readings from the related field of Performance Studies. While performance ART is an artistic field, performance STUDIES is wider academic discipline working with the notion of performance not only in art but also in the sports, rituals, play, every day, sex, technology, business and elsewhere. I base the class on my years-long artistic, theoretical and curatorial practices and on my education in the field (BA in Site-Specific Performance, ongoing MA in Live Art and Performance Studies, BA in General Art Studies).

Methodology The proposed teaching aims to develop the plastic qualities and the personality of the pupil through the drawing as well as his sense of the observation by various playful and inventive exercises. I am a visual artist born in Barcelona, settled in Belgium since 2017. As an artist I have accumulated experience for the last 25 years. I am graduated with an Academic Bachelor in Fine Arts in the University of Barcelona and graduated as a Master in Visual Arts at Sint Lucas School of Arts in Antwerpen. I am specialised in painting, drawing, experimental films, installations, language, sound and curating. In other words, I am a multidisciplinary artist. I understand the artistic practice as a way to understand ourselves and the situations which surrounds us. In my classes I don't teach how to do Art, but as how to say something through your artistic work. With me you can work independently, with a coach who will challenge you with some assignments and giving feedback to your personal concerns. In addition, you will learn how to work with several mediums, preparing your own material: paintings, canvases, and so on. You will not only receive individual coaching but as encourage you to look other artists or take into account other references connected with your concerns. Finding, discussing and retaking solutions together are the core of my classes.

You will always need a blank piece of paper and a pencil for class. Some people say that you need fancy materials to make art but that is far from the truth. Using what you have at home is perfect! We will be taking notes each class on techniques and we will also be doing sketches every class. On the first day of class we will start by setting goals for something we want to learn more about in art. I will work with you to gradually get to that place you want. Art is something that you learn just like everything else, putting in the work is part of learning and is needed in the subject of art as well!

Egg tempera is one of the most ancient historical art painting technique. It preserved as a main technique to paint orthodox religious icons. It is possible to learn it and paint your own icon.
