Italian (italiano [itaˈljaːno] (About this soundlisten) or lingua italiana [ˈliŋɡwa itaˈljaːna]) is a Romance language. Italian, together with Sardinian, is by most measures the closest language to Vulgar Latin of the Romance languages. Italian is an official language in Italy, Switzerland, San Marino, Vatican City and western Istria (in Slovenia and Croatia). It formerly had official status and is still widely spoken in Albania, Malta, Monaco, and in some parts of France (especially Corsica, Nice, Savoie), Greece (Ionian Islands and Dodecanese) and Montenegro (Kotor), as well as in former Italian East Africa and Italian North Africa regions where it plays a significant role in various sectors. Italian is also spoken by large expatriate communities in the Americas and Australia. It also has official minority status in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia and Romania. Many speakers are native bilinguals of both standardized Italian and other regional languages.
Italian is a major European language, being one of the official languages of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and one of the working languages of the Council of Europe. It is the fourth most widely spoken first language in the European Union with 69 million native speakers (13% of the EU population) and it is spoken as a second language by 16 million EU citizens (3%). Including Italian speakers in non-EU European countries (such as Switzerland and Albania) and on other continents, the total number of speakers is around 90 million.Italian is the main working language of the Holy See, serving as the lingua franca (common language) in the Roman Catholic hierarchy as well as the official language of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. Italian is known as the language of music because of its use in musical terminology and opera. Its influence is also widespread in the arts and in the luxury goods market. Italian has been reported as the fourth or fifth most frequently taught foreign language in the world.

CharlotteNice Italian lessons: understand and speak, read and write
Are you going to Erasmus in Italy soon? Or are you passionate about the Italian language and culture? Depending on your level, we partly take grammar and vocabulary. Above all, I want you to learn to converse spontaneously and feel confident in this. The purpose of the lessons is that you are amused as you learn. Homework can, but should not. Everything is adjusted to your size, depending on what your learning goal is.
About me: A few years ago I lived in Milan for a year. After an intensive course of 2 weeks, I found 3 Italian roommates to live with. Given the limited knowledge of their English, I quickly picked up Italian. That's how I learned to speak Italian fluently. Once back in Belgium, I still visit Italy every 2-3 months, or Italian friends visit me here.

SandraFrench, English and Italian and Test Prep Tutoring
What we are offering;
I am a French teacher. My mother tongue is Dutch. I have more than 20 years of experience in teaching French for students 12 to 16 years old.
Up to the bachelor degree I had my degrees in France and Turkey. I had my Master Degree in the United States I am still doing my post graduate studies in Italy.
Instead of sticking with a few methods in teaching languages I would rather use comprehensive techniques which are always enjoyable (Of course teaching methods depend also to the needs of the students). Comprehensive methods include a combination of reading, listening, watching, playing, and speaking together).
The first lesson which is an introduction period and during which we will define the needs and the methods.
Conversation classes are also available. We would discuss on interesting subjects with a systematical approach up to two hours a day. Which would significantly enhance the communication skills of the student?
Depending on the nationality of the students the lessons are taught either in French, English, Italian and Turkish. Being new in Belgium I also spend some times to learn the Dutch. So Dutch is not available : )
