Hi my name is Osian and I’m a cellist from South Wales. I’ve taught children of many ages and standards and I really feel privileged to be a part of someone’s musical and personal development. Music lessons can be a way of reaching the concert platform or it could be a way of expressing yourself and being creative, wether it’s a career path or not. I grew up playing and singing where my first priority was to fall in love with music and learn to perform it to the best standard that I could do and that’s what I’d like to encourage my students to aim for too. I’m a BMus Hons Scholar from The Royal Academy of Music and I’m not studying at a masters lever at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

Hi, I'm Federica, I am Italian and I am a jazz piano player and singer, I studied at the Royal Conservatory of the Hague. I'm doing my Master at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. I give piano jazz/pop/classical piano lessons but my main goal is to try to give to the student a general understanding of the music in order to approach every style and to have fun with music! I really love to work with children, I like to teach them good values like patience, self-confidence, trust, communication, collaboration, all through the music. This is the method that I apply to my private saxophone and composition classes. With more than 12 years of experience studying and practicing music, with a bachelor's degree in classical composition and pursuing a master's degree in jazz saxophone, my classes are oriented to both languages, reviewing technique, interpretation, examples, sound, language, reading, styles, and methods of practicing both the instrument and the composition. As a Cambridge University graduate in the Faculty of Education, I am delighted to have settled down in the Netherlands since September 2019. I started piano at the age of 5, and music has been an important part of my life ever since. Classically trained as a pianist and violinist, I picked up another instrument named Erhu (Chinese violin) and became a professional performer. I am experienced in teaching both children and adults, from different cultural backgrounds. Also, I have been actively involved in both Western and Chinese orchestra since high school. Thanks to my years of experience in being an orchestra member and soloist, I am also familiar with orchestral music. As a humble music therapist, I am passionate about music and believe in the power of music. I trust that music is in everybody and I respect every student's individuality and thus tailor my teaching methods to develop my students' full potential. I started teaching in 2009 and most students put their trust in me when they first decided to learn an instrument. I also enjoy exploring the world of music with students with learning disabilities. I am proud to say, my students, aged from 5 to 60, are enthusiastic in playing the instrument they have chosen and keen to improve their skills following my advice. I adopt a flexible approach in teaching - I believe every student is unique and my job is to develop the strengths and improve the weaknesses. I put a lot of emphasis on a solid foundation in my teaching. For young children, I tend to use a more interactive approach to explain complicated music theories, yet strict in the fundamentals such as posture and rhythm. For adults, I am always happy to discuss with them my lesson plan and choose the best exercises and songs that suit their music interests and needs. For my students who would like to take exams, I am happy to tailor the lessons based on their progress. I believe in the quality of learning and understanding rather than the number of pieces that they learn. Many beginners and their parents have put their trusts in me and achieved distinction in their first ABRSM exam. I am fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese, and a native speaker of Cantonese Chinese. We will go over the techniques of singing, vocal health, other vocal skills, understanding of harmony and bringing out emotion while singing. I've been teaching people of all ages since I was 21. During my 6 years of teaching, I've taught at some of the best local music schools in New Delhi (like One World College of Music and Blue Note School of Music) and have also been tutoring people in private 1v1 classes on both voice and piano.
