ABOUT THE CLASSES: We propose to play and discover the power and meaning of the sounds and possibilities of the guitar. We will learn: Chords, composition of chords. Picks, fingers, slide technique. Introduction to open tunings. Rhythms, scales, work with tablatures, yeites. Interpretation, improvisation, elaboration of arrangements. Harmony, melody, audioperceptive. Composition, musical production. The classes aim to enable you to develop an interpretive or compositional method according to your level, own search and particular taste. You can bring your own ideas or songs to the classes, or work on different styles to understand and develop genuine expression through the electric, acoustic or classical guitar. No prior knowledge or particular age is needed to start working, but rather enthusiasm and motivation, perseverance and commitment, an attentive ear, an alert mind and a free heart. ABOUT ME: My name is Juan. I have been a guitar teacher for 8 years. Through teaching I have fun and continue to learn. I also believe that artistic expression heals and liberates. Music has been part of my essence since my childhood. At the age of 12 they gave me my first guitar and that is where my self-taught search began, through pure play and intuition. Then I began to participate in bands, and before I came of age I found myself recording my first album in a professional studio, followed by my first international tour. I was part of the band Viejas Locas for 6 years, which led me to work professionally, a before and after in my life and career. I have always been part of many musical projects, until today, when I work professionally mainly in charge of my songs, as a composer, performer, guitarist, singer and independent music producer. As for musical styles, I perform in different ones. From rock n roll, blues, folk, soul, funk, reggae, country, song, experimental, ambient, dub. My method is adaptive and customizable to the needs, searches and tastes, regardless of the experiences of each participant. It is not necessary to have prior knowledge. The meetings are private, individual, in person or virtual (your choice), one day a week, lasting one hour, at times to be combined.
