In our sessions, YOUR independence is the goal. You'll find the perfect harmony between theory, practical exercises, and active listening. By laying a rock-solid foundation in voice physiology, breath control, resonance, and clear articulation, you'll sing not just with your voice, but with your whole being. Plus, we're big on mindfulness and body awareness. You should feel as good as you sound. Got a favorite music genre? Great! We'll dive into the musical styles that you love. Whether you are looking for the disciplined learning of classical opera, the heart-pounding beats of pop, the rich depths of jazz, or the raw energy of rock, we're here to help you navigate and master the genres you love most. It's not just about hitting the right notes; our most important goal is finding your unique voice. And don't worry if you hit a wrong note or two; here, making mistakes is welcomed because they're the stepping stones to getting better. We cheer for every 'oops' because each one is a step towards 'wow'. If your needs require you to better your listening skills and knowledge of music theory, we can provide that along with vocal training. Beyond vocal prowess, our lessons can hone a comprehensive musical skill set. This includes active listening—a key element of our teaching philosophy. You'll learn to detect and relish the intricate details in music, from the pulse of the bass to the emotional phrasing of the violin. Our approach fosters a deep dive into the musical texture, allowing you to capture the emotional essence and complex layers of your favorite song. But our offerings don't end there. If you wish (and only if you wish, don't worry), we can guide you in learning to read sheet music or chord tabs, equipping you with the tools to navigate through melodies and harmonies independently. Embrace the music as a whole and let every note guide your voice to new expressive realms. 🌟 Ready to Start? Trusted teacher: Hey there =) Interested in learning piano? Or improving your songwriting or producing? Maybe you are a complete beginner, or maybe you already know a lot and you’d like to expand your skills with some guidance and accountability. I am happy to share what I know with anyone. All ages & skill levels are welcome! Lessons can include: Learning songs & how to practice effectively Understanding harmony and music theory Playing by ear and listening skills Scales, exercises, and proper technique Chord voicings & harmonic wizardry How to improvise and more =) I like to give my students the tools to teach themselves and I believe learning music can be fun and engaging, even when beginning. I'll ask, 'what do you want to be able to do with the piano?' And then I can help you make a plan for how to get there. I have a jazz background and I love to improvise. I have over 10 years of experience playing and performing music, specializing in jazz and improvised music. I studied in New Zealand, earning a Bachelor of Music specializing in jazz piano and composition. I have been teaching piano for over 7 years now, and have been living here in Berlin for just over 4 years. Location: I offer lessons from a home music studio at my apartment in Plänterwald, Berlin. I can also travel to your location for an extra charge as long as you're not too far away. Language: I generally speak and teach in English, though I can also speak some German to around B1 level. Available times: My teaching hours are between 9am and 7pm, every day of the week except for Sundays. Send me a message and we can organize a time together =)

Native English piano lessons from an experienced tutor (Berlin)
Jack
I’m so lucky that I was able to have lessons with Jack during my time in Berlin! He creates such a supportive environment for learning — laid back and calm, yet totally professional. After years of me struggling independently with a few pieces, he was able to show me new ways of approaching the music that transformed even the hardest parts into something accessible. He has a lovely and genuine way of offering encouragement / recognizing progress, while still keeping track of the underlying objective; a more far-reaching arc of improvement. I like how he remembers this larger perspective from week to week (especially when I forget), and finds ways to expertly weave the end goal into incremental, manageable steps. I have learned so much from the tools and techniques he’s shared with me, and am grateful to have enjoyed his teaching.

Violin Lessons for All Levels - Beginner through Conservatory (Steglitz)
Usha
Usha is a world-class violinist and violin teacher! I studied from a young age and through college at a relatively high level, but had to put it down for many years once I started working. Usha has helped me relearn the fundamentals with good habits and regain confidence as a performing artist. I love how creatively she tackles complex problems, and how her violin lessons--though focused on music and technique--seem to involve big life lessons as well. I look forward to continuing to study with Usha!

Guitar and Improvisation - 18 years of musical experience (Neukölln)
Philip
I've had lessons before but chose Philip to try his wholistic approach. I really enjoyed learning about the neuroscience behind good tuition, and I've found my practice is going much better now. I would recommend this new approach to learning to anyone who is either a beginner or just maybe stuck in a rut like I was. It's the most beneficial learning I've had in a long time. Give it a try - you won't be disappointed with the results. Thanks Phil - I'm looking forward to continuing.
