Hello everyone! My name is Kiki, I am a linguist and a (Modern/Ancient) Greek language teacher, currently working on my PhD thesis on the intercultural expression of emotions. I am also a translator and a trained tour guide, constantly engaging in the interplay of language and culture! I live and work in Thessaloniki, Greece, and I 've been practicing teaching for over 15 years now, working within a whole variety of different environments and with people coming from a range of cultural backgrounds. One of the reasons I love teaching/translating is the ongoing process of exchanging knowledge of intercultural linguistic patterns that shape our everyday reality. I am constantly encouraging students of all ages to look out for more than grammatical rules and vocabulary, and to dig into the intriguing aspects of everyday communication. I thus adopt a communicative/conversational method, supplementing instructory books with verbal training and providing material from different cultural sources. I am a native speaker of Greek. I graduated from a Greek high school and, later, the University of Athens where I attended courses in pedagogics, psychology, and linguistics. During our lessons, I'll help you develop your skills (oral/written, and not only). I'll also try to help you improve your pronunciation and spelling. I assign homework and after I receive it, correct it thoroughly additionally providing a lot of remarks/examples if they are necessary. I worked at a language center between 2009-2016 where I was a director of studies and taught mainly English as a foreign/second language. Since 2005, when I first started teaching Greek, I have taught children and adults on a variety of language proficiency levels, mainly individually. I constantly seek progress, meaning that I study further through reading books/articles concerning didactics/methodology and learning difficulties (chiefly dyslexia), observing other teachers as well as attending seminars (online or face-to-face). During my lessons I use : - Skype/Whatsapp/Messenger to connect with you, - Google Docs to keep notes, which you can check at any time and they are yours to keep, - sketch board me to make mind maps to show connections between ideas, etc. - books, PPP, word docs, diagrams, pics, etc. - pronunciation/spelling/grammar games, - authentic materials were taken from websites. I adore my profession and desire each and every one of my students be satisfied with the lesson. That's why I make sure the atmosphere is stress-free and nice. I also want my lessons to be as effective and close to real-life needs as possible. Therefore, I make sure they are well-prepared, although they can be altered at any point, should such an opportunity arise. I like explaining things in a variety of ways as well as make use of dictionaries, diagrams, etc. When it comes to students who want to obtain certificates, I am very demanding. An introduction to the basic syntactic and grammatical phenomena of the ancient Greek language. We use texts from the ancient Greek Literature (Ancient Greek History, Tragedies and Myths) as well as the Bible or Byzantine Hymnology in order to better understand the structure and way of thinking of the Greek language. The course is addressed to anyone who either has or doesn't have a knowledge of the Greek language. It is built as a personalized course, based on each student's level, motivation and learning needs.

An entire civilization has been built on the ancient Greek language. My name is Anastasia, I come from Greece and I am currently based in Rotterdam. Holding a Bachelor degree in Ancient and Modern Greek Philology and History, I can help you learn and practise the language. The structure of the lesson varies taking into account each student' s specific linguistic expectations and needs. The lessons include learning of grammar and vocabulary, and practising of reading, speaking and writing texts. In accordance with the wants and interests of each student the content of the lesson and the material provided can be connected with Greek culture, society and history too. The course is open to beginners, intermediate, advanced, academic and business.

If you want to learn the secrets of French, its complicated spelling, its sometimes obscure grammar, the history of its vocabulary ... do Latin (and Greek!)! Moreover, a Latin course is compulsory at the University when studying Romanesque diapers (French, Italian, Spanish, etc.), ancient history and archeology. At the same time, you will discover the foundations of our civilization which has deep roots in Antiquity. I taught Latin and Greek in secondary 1 (9 a.m. to 11 a.m.) and 2 in the cantons of Vaud and Geneva: I can help prepare for exams.

Let's start by declensions and so on. We'll discover the verbal tenses and how is a phrase done. You don't know the slight aspects unless have studied how Ancient Greek's verbs work, or the Ancient Indian. So, if we can translate texts (at first easier ones, the the original), we could reach anywhere in the vast world around the Roman Empire. Latin is the basis for the Romance languages. And Greek is more usual between us than you could imagine (Medicine, over all). You could structure your mind as the ancient did! They are the "little box" where you can put in whatever you want. It also provides a manner to live and to work in order to know the essential tasks and the rest.

My name is Serdane and I offer language courses for students in grades 1 to 4 who would find it difficult to find a way of working that suits them. Extrovert and bubbly ... and above all, a lot of humor! Everyone learns in his own way. This is why I do not have a rigid method but adapt to the contrary to the specificities of each student. I evaluate its level, its strengths, its possible weaknesses or delays, and I develop my course accordingly. My priority is to give the student confidence: Latin and Greek are within everyone's reach when they are well explained! I believe in active teaching methods: I try to involve the student as much as possible, to make him discover what works for him, so that he can pursue his career independently.
