Hello,

My name is Rimel and I have a passion for distributing (and gaining) knowledge. Aside from training as a clinician, I pride myself on having over 7 years of experience tutoring in various different environments. I have been tutoring from 11+ all the way to A-Level, both in specialist Ofsted approved tuition centers and privately via 1:1 sessions. The subjects in which I have ample experience of teaching are English Literature, English Language, Chemistry, Biology (all up to A-Level), and Maths (up to GCSE). I absolutely love teaching and making a real difference to the learning of my tutees. My lessons are planned according to personalised learning needs of my students and I ensure that every minute of the lesson is spent enriching their learning experience as much as possible. I also ensure that I ask students at the end of each session whether they felt that their learning outcomes were met and whether they benefited from the session. This allows me to steer the upcoming sessions towards a pace and direction which is more suitable for the particular student, if need be. This class is designed for anyone who would like to improve their English skills, from beginner to advanced levels. I speak German and Romanian fluently in addition to English, as well as conversational Chinese and Spanish, which may make it easier for some. I tailor the class to suit the individual; after a first session I can assess the student's goal (ie. conversational, business, written, etc. level of English) and create a program to suit this.

Can learning English be fun, insightful, productive and effective at the same time? I believe so!

Whatever your background or profession, deciding to learn a foreign language is a great way to add another dimension to your life and make your mind work in a new way. You become a (slightly) different person, since along with a new language, one learns to look at the world in a slightly different way. This is why my approach to teaching English is not only aimed at laying or strengthening the foundational knowledge - grammar, speaking, writing and listening skills, but also at introducing students to the culture of the English-speaking population. We will find out what English speakers find funny, what drives them to tears, what makes them feel proud and what they get embarrassed about.

Open to students of all levels, my course usually is taught online, using a variety of visual aids and a wide range of material, from textbooks to YouTube videos. In teaching advanced learners, I often refer to pieces of literature such as novels and poems, since they easily spark discussions, which in turn improves the students' grasp and feel of the language. In doing so, I take students beyond ordinary textbooks and grammar books, since they are no more than guides to learning, not absolute authorities, and because to me language is a living, constantly evolving matter, which you must submerge yourself into in order to understand.

In addition to my unorthodox approach, what sets me apart is a collection of unique, language-related experiences, which translate into a good ability to understand nuances of the English language. A native Russian speaker, I have lived in the UK for over 5 years, went to a Scottish boarding school and have even completed a university degree in English. With my help, as a student you will learn how to master the basics and understand thoroughly and difficult concepts such as molecular orbitals, organic chemistry reactions and biochemistry.
We will work on the sources and topic provided in class implementing with an easy and comprehensive approach.

I teach primary school children from Year 2 upwards in Maths, English and in preparation for SATs in Year 6.
My resources are all current and up to date and relevant in today’s National Curriculum specification.
I have full access to the topics to be covered in each year group in Maths and am happy to mirror and match that which is being completed termly at school as well as focusing on more challenging topics. Each lesson will begin with Arithmetic questions for fluency.
Reading comprehensions and grammar will be taught according to what is required for each year group and finally with a focus on spelling, punctuation and grammar practise papers as will be completed during SATs. I cover a variety of comprehension style questions that are inline with SATs and will cover all the skills required including word meaning, retrieval and inference questions across non fiction, fiction and poetry examples.
