Trusted teacher: I am in my last year of history teacher training and I want to help students get better in history. As a history teacher I can help students very well. Learning to learn is important in any subject and I've done a lot of research on what works. That is why I also teach you how to study effectively, for example how to take notes effectively and that you can recall everything you have learned while taking tests.

In this class i help students to organize their homework and help they get good prepared for exams. I find it very important to help a student with understanding the course but also to help them gain more confidence about what they can. Math, Physics and Chemistry are all Beta subjects. I focus on really understanding the courses instead of learning you a trick. It’s also about a lot of practicing with those subjects. I also give History. It’s important to understanding connections between events and why people choose to act in a certain way.

Trusted teacher: Vincent Van Gogh once said something to the effect that greatness is a series of little things coming together, Emile Durkheim the great French sociologist first 'coined', "the whole is more than the sum of its parts" and Montesquieu conceived of laws in relation to climate. What do all of these have to do with each other? The fact that the interpretation and understanding of one of the realms of socio-political knowledge is not enough to either understand that single discipline of study whether it be Law, History, Political Science, Economics, Sociology or Philosophy- you cannot separate any from the whole and be able to understand the Short, Nasty,Brutish™ nature that reality is and that conditions human life. While my studies and work have nigh been exclusively related to Law, my interests which pushed me there were/are seemingly very different. Through my experience I may humbly submit that the the perspectives that each discipline approaches problems with are crucial in solving very distinct "linguistic" problems within their specific paradigms. They however are victims of dogma as is academia in general it would be fair to say. Living in the times we do, it is not only necessary as a basic informational issue but as an issue of responsible citizenry, young adults must be well educated about the political economy. Whether you're looking to study and/or are currently studying and/or want to learn about any of the aforementioned subjects whether in conjunction with current coursework and/or assignments, or if you're just interested and would like to learn about a specific period in time, this is for you.

Currently, I am a law student with a passion for languages, geology and history and I like to share the knowledge - in peace and with full understanding of the student - and together I look for the best method to make this work! I have been working as a tutor for primary and secondary school students for more than 5 years and have experience with people / children who have difficult learning, have little motivation or where the penny has just not yet fallen.

Elme - Maastricht, Netherlands23€
Trusted teacher: I completed the IB DP with a consistent 7/ high 6 in Higher Level History, and this has always been one of my favorite subjects. I am very good at this subject and have somewhat of a passion for it. I have a very good grasp of what is expected from the IB students as pertains to this subject, and I know the ins and outs of the criteria and the weird and wonderful little ways in which the IB expects the students to perform. I am able to help with any course work, homework, assignments, or assessments. As pertains to the DP students, I also did my EE on a History topic so I can assist there if need be. I am also a tutor in English and as comprehensive writing and legibility is a large part of what is expected from IB History students, I can offer particular insight into how to best write and get arguments across.

The Crusades are an often misunderstood period in world history, and this can make understanding them a complex task. As somebody who has studied the Crusades both at A Level and at undergraduate level (indeed, writing my dissertation on an aspect of the Crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem), I feel I am well placed to pass on my knowledge and skills. I am happy to help in any aspect of study, be it in understanding the period, people and events, or with other facets such as exam technique.

All of my lessons are specifically tailored to the student, what this intends to achieve is a specific course of learning, whether that be through writing practice essays, playing educational online games, writing, and creating flashcards to help remember information, mind maps, etc. If they decide they would like to work on something specific I am very flexible and would be happy to teach! The typical length of my lesson is 60 minutes, the first 10 minutes are to ensure the student is feeling good and ready to learn, as well as to address any marking or specific questions that the student may have about the work given or school material. The second phase of my teaching includes a quick-fire round, by which I aim to engage the student by firing a few questions in order to recall key facts/takeaways from the previous lesson. After this consolidation, I build upon the previous lesson by extending the topic or leading into the next subject. Depending on the student’s ability and focus, I will either choose for them to complete a short piece of work independently or step-by-step with me (they are of course allowed to ask for help whenever!). Finally, we assess the work, tackle any other problems or questions, and then finish with a game or short educational clip. The student may be given additional homework if I feel the material was misunderstood or could be improved upon. I have experience working as a teaching assistant in primary schools from early years to year 6, my work included: organising lesson plans; teaching one-to-one and in bigger groups; administrative duties, and supporting the emotional and social needs of the student. I have only had a few students privately as I would balance them on par with my own education, however, I found this difficult to maintain due to the pandemic, therefore I have more experience with primary school years, but I can cater up to GCSEs.

Trusted teacher: Ever wondered about life in Jamaica beyond the lights of Kingston’s allure? This class offers an ethnographic journey of practises and cultures in rural Jamaica, illustrated through photos, songs and videos. Let's explore life in rural Jamaica! Born and raised in a remote rural district/village, I will take you on an authentic journey of first hand experiences- reliving fond childhood memories, the stories my grandmother told me and what a typical day is like. This will be grounded in the history and culture of Jamaica. Coming from a background in diplomacy, sharing about Jamaica's culture and historical experiences has always been essential for opening the door to a deeper unerstanding. I have an avid interest in other cultures and always take the time to explore wherever I go. Having been to South and Central America, Asia, North America and Europe, I know the unique value of such rich experiences. Whenever I was home-sick while posted abroad, talking about my homeland was the only cure. I will share with you all there is about living in rural Jamaica, from different perspectives of my childhood, teenage years and adult life. One unique bit is that the district's enduring small farms form the centrepiece around which everything revolves. Come prepared with a curious mind, and if you want to make notes take your pen and paper or do so on your devices. It is important for me that your are learning, so I encourage you to ask questions. Let's go beyond Kington's enigma!

As a recent graduate of the IB Diploma who achieved a 7 in History HL, I know exactly what it takes to achieve the top grades. I have designed my course to gradually build upon essay structure, planning and writing as skills. I will help you to be able to be prepared for a myriad of different exam topics which may show up and provide you with exam techniques which are essential for reaching the higher grades. Trusted teacher: For students in secondary school, regardless of level or year, I provide tutoring and homework guidance in (business) economics and history, so that the student understands the material better and can get a higher grade for tests. Many schools are only designed in one way that is not ideal for every student. At the beginning I like to talk to the student about what he or she wants to get out of the lessons and what he or she thinks is a pleasant working method. In this way, education is more tailored and the student can make the most of his or her time in a pleasant way.

Trusted teacher: I have deeply enjoyed US History since high school, where I received top marks, through university to the present, where I still read and learn history on a regular basis. I am most familiar with mainland history from US Independence to the present day, however am always trying to improve my knowledge about Native American history, and the territories. I have also studied extensively the impact of the US on the wider world and it's relations with the global community. I believe it is important to teach history from a wide variety of perspectives. In recent years, I have particularly tried to focus on history retold from the perspective of those left out of the traditional view, which is really just anyone who isn't a white, upper-class, European male. This broader and more complex view of history leads to a more nuanced understanding of the past, particularly from a social perspective.

Western Armenian is a language that has been put in the endangered language's list, and I personally believe that such a rich language should never die. I believe that I am taking a huge initiative to be one of the individuals who'll try to save this important language from disappearing. I try to make my lessons as interacting as possible. The lessons and exercises will be provided through PowerPoint presentations. I try to listen to my student in order to prepare the lesson plan together, according to his needs and preferences. I've always been the smiling and friendly tutor who makes the student comfortable during the lessons. I believe that in order to reach the students you need to understand them also emotionally and psychologically.

Trusted teacher: History is a fascinating subject to study at school whether studying it at a high level such as A level or in secondary school building crucial skills for the future that will help you understand the world. However, mastering the art of History exams can be difficult (as a student myself I know!), and therefore having a former student who has achieved the highest grades help with it can both enable a student to reach their full potential and discover a newfound excitement towards the subject.
