Trusted teacher: Hello. I am 23 years old Polish guy who just moved to Utrecht from Kyoto - yes, I know, quite a combination! I am currently pursuing MSc in Financial Management and possess two bachelor degrees - Economics and Japanese Studies - which I completed simultaneously. I lived in Japan, Kyoto for a year where I attended 上級(advanced level, N1 and above) university course. I currently possess the N1 certificate. I have also worked in a fully Japanese (Japanese capital, Japanese people, twisted Japanese business rules) company in Kyoto and am looking forward to sharing this experience with you! I am open to teach anyone, be that a student or a working person, but I believe my knowledge would be the most useful for a person who is ultimately looking to use their gained skills in a professional setting. If you wish to learn Japanese from the very beginning I am using the Genki textbook + workbook. Mastering (not only skimming through) Genki 1 and 2 with someone who can guide you along the way can get you very far in real-life conversation and - depending on the time commitment, will, and previous exposure to the language - can be done in a relatively short time. For those who have already completed those textbooks - we will discuss your needs and adjust the lessons to that. Personally, based on the previous experiences I believe I could help you the most with "opening up" to freely converse in Japanese. If you have any questions - hit me up! The lessons can be taught in Japanese, English, and Polish.

Trusted teacher: So far, I have been carrying out 3 different types of lessons: (a) just conversation: Here, the student prepares 5-6 different topics for the lesson, and prepares a document with the topics and short paragraph about each topic. This way, the student can start looking at the vocabulary for the topic before the lesson. Usually, the student sends this document by email 24 hours before the planned lesson. When we start the lesson, the first few minutes are just a few questions, small talk about the last few days and what is going on at the moment. Then, we move to the topics. Each topic takes approximately 10 minutes (more or less, depending on the content). For each topic, the student first introduces the topic and what they know about it so far, then we discuss the issue, I ask some content questions or questions about your views on this subject, etc. These discussions are very helpful for conversation, sentence fluency, and vocabulary development. When the student makes a mistake in grammar, sentence, or word choice, I correct them and help them understand their mistakes. Usually, each student has a little notebook where they note down their mistakes or new words and phrases that they have learnt. During the following lesson, I may ask a few questions about the topics from the previous lesson, in order to refresh the student's memory regarding their previous mistakes and new vocabulary. (b) conversation and description: This is the same as the conversation type (a) above, but there are only 3 topics and it lasts approximately 35-40 minutes. The second half of the lesson is prepared by me. I send a document with 3-5 pictures. The student describes what they see, using position vocabulary, descriptive words, and tried to interpret what is going on in the picture. This is also very good for language development and verbal fluency. After the student finished describing as well as they can, I will describe in a little bit more depth, to make sure that all new words and phrases are mentioned. During following lesson, the first 10 minutes of the second part of the lesson (for picture description) are for a short reviewing of last lesson's pictures, refreshing memory and making sure all words are understood and well-used. (c) conversation and writing: This is the same as the conversation type (a) above, but the last 15 minutes are focused on writing skills. Usually, we look at different writing styles such as formal versus casual, a typical formal email, a typical friendly email, how to ask for help, etc. Of course, lesson types can changes as often as you want! Some of my students had the first lessons in style (c), and then we switched to one in style (a) and one in style (b). I am also very flexible in terms of what you want to do and what you prefer as a student! I hope this information helps you for you decision and if you have more questions, please do not hesitate!

Trusted teacher: Learn Chinese language and culture with a lot of fun. The approach helps you remember easily and apply in the daily life or work environments. The Chinese culture such as Chinese calligraphy, festivals, life and work culture will open your view towards China and help you understand and branding in Chinese context. By combining Phonetic Training, Repetition and Drills, Interactive Activities, Visual and Audio Aids, Feedback and Correctionteachers, Culturally Relevant Materials, Use of Technology, Structured Language Lessons, I create a diverse and engaging learning environment that assists students in mastering the Chinese language and improving their pronunciation effectively. Tailoring Chinese lessons to a student’s learning style and preferences involves a combination of assessing their individual needs, adapting teaching methods, and creating a personalized learning plan. Here’s how I approach it: 1. Understanding Learning Styles Initial Assessment: I start with a questionnaire or discussion to understand how the student learns best—visually, auditorily, kinesthetically, or through reading and writing. Trial Activities: Observing their engagement during different activities (e.g., flashcards, conversations, or listening exercises) helps confirm their preferences. 2. Personalized Content Relevant Topics: Incorporate the student’s interests (e.g., travel, business, pop culture) to make lessons engaging. Cultural Integration: If they’re interested in Chinese culture, history, or traditions, I integrate cultural anecdotes, idioms, or holiday practices into the curriculum. Professional Needs: For those learning Chinese for work, I focus on industry-specific vocabulary and scenarios. 3. Methodology Adjustments Visual Learners: Use diagrams, flashcards, and videos to teach characters, grammar structures, and tones. Auditory Learners: Focus on listening and speaking activities, such as audio recordings, songs, and conversational practice. Kinesthetic Learners: Incorporate hands-on activities like stroke order practice, role-playing scenarios, or physical games to reinforce learning. Reading/Writing Learners: Provide text-heavy materials, exercises, and encourage journaling or essay writing in Chinese. 4. Adapting the Pacing Some students prefer a structured approach with grammar rules and systematic progress, while others thrive in a more immersive and conversational environment. I adjust the lesson flow accordingly. 5. Technology and Resources Recommend apps, online tools, or games tailored to their style (e.g., Skritter for visual learners, podcasts for auditory learners). Share supplementary materials like interactive ebooks, videos, or worksheets that align with their pace and interests. 6. Feedback and Flexibility Regularly check in with the student to ensure the lessons are effective and enjoyable. Be ready to tweak the teaching strategy if their needs or goals evolve. 7. Building Confidence Celebrate milestones, like mastering tones or writing a paragraph, to keep motivation high. Use error correction techniques suited to their preference—some prefer immediate feedback, while others benefit from reflective corrections after the session.

It is with the utmost admiration and gratitude that I extend my effulgent endorsement for David, the epitome of mathematical tutorship. Excellent teacher. I took Linear Algebra classes from Bibek. He came to the lessons always prepared beforehand which made the learning process a lot smoother and easier for me. He didn't only go through each concept and topic in detail but also made sure to illustrate every concept with supplementary exercises. His patient and detail-oriented teaching style helped me learn the core concepts of linear algebra from scratch. I am pretty sure one doesn't come across such a kind and understanding tutor that often. Thank you very much again Bibek for all your efforts!

Thank you very much, Justin, for your amazing approach, custom-made professional and easy attitude, and a super international mindset. I would very much recommend it!
