A speciality of mine is Business English, so I can also help with everything from preparing for an interview or speaking in meetings, to giving a presentation. While my classes are 100% in English, I can also speak Dutch and Spanish. This gives me a real insight as to why students make certain mistakes, and how to best avoid them.

I offer private, one to one viola and violin lessons where I encourage technical and musical development for musicians who are currently learning at an intermediate to high level. As a teacher I tailor my lessons for the specific needs of the individual by listening attentively and giving new perspectives to help you flourish. I look at the way you use your instrument to help you refine your technical capabilities in order to become free in your expression. I also encourage using intuition in combination with intellectual understanding of the music that you are playing. I believe that each person has their own way of creating, listening and connecting to music, and playing the viola/violin is a wonderful way of exploring it. Having started my studies on violin and moved to the viola as a teenager, I had the experience of learning how to shift my technical approach to and from each instrument so that I could feel comfortable and best express the music. I would love to help you build your love and passion for making music. If you are interested, I offer a consultation lesson to see if we would be a good fit and from there we can agree on a way to work together. I can give three to four lessons a month, however it is unlikely that they can be scheduled at the exact same time weekly, therefore they need to be booked relatively far in advance.

Hello everyone! I’m Valeryia and have played the violin for already 20 years. I love music and would like to share my experience with children and adults. I’m open to teaching every soul that wants to find harmony and your own melody :) I started to learn music in Minsk. Then I got a Bachelor of music and a Master of music in Lemmensinstituut in Belgium.

Private lessons for beginners to advanced level of violin playing. All ages are welcome. I am a professionally trained teacher and violinist for almost two decades. My lessons are given in English, Spanish and (soon) Dutch and French. My teaching method is variable depending on the students' needs, but the goal is shared: to make a great musician and qualified violinist out of the pupil. I work on both technical and musical aspects from a (very) consciously prepared healthy and enjoyable perspective. Particular emphasis on having fun with the little ones! I pay special attention to creating a personalized education and experience for every one of my students. I also give some additional tools applicable to the violin playing which includes: Introduction to Yoga, Feldenkrais, Alexander Technique and Body & Mind. All the basic theory is taught too. Occasionally, there are student concerts and collaborations with other teachers. (These may include some teachers from the Sweelinck Academy or the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, and more). From among the required tools for my lessons are: a violin and a bow, score and books purchases when necessary, and, from time to time, meetings with the parents. On occasion, I use digital tools like phone/tablet apps. I can teach in various places near or in the centre of Amsterdam, or, depending on the need, I can move to pretty much wherever in The Netherlands. About the homework, I send it to the students on a weekly basis and encourage them to participate on competitions and summer music courses. As always, this is conditional on the pupil's stage.

Since two years, I have been living in Haarlem - a wonderful city close to Amsterdam - and to the coast 🌊 - in the Netherlands. I love teaching and helping people to find out more about Italian culture, history, and arts. I would love to use all the modern techniques of teaching that I learned and practiced them with you. Was born to musician family and I am a violinist who is professionally trained for 18 years. Finished Master's Degree with a Cum Laude (distinction) at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, I can teach from the beginning to advanced level of violin playing. I play in different countries in Europa (France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, UK etc.) : I am aware of the difference styles. I can teach in french and english, if necessary, in german too. I'm a 24 years old Portuguese violist currently living in Amsterdam. I have studied at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Nobuko Imai and Francien Schatborn for 6 years from 2014 till 2020. As a freelancer I work with numerous orchestras such as: Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra and Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, Radio Filharmonisch Orkest and Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. I'm also an active chamber music player, amongst others as a member of the Rotterdam Chamber Music Society. In addition to my private teaching experience, I have also done a teaching internship at the Muziekschool in Amstelveen during my studies, which gave me a lot of experience working with all levels of playing. In my lessons I always go first for the student's aim, what suits him/her the best and always serving the music. And of course having fun and pleasure in music making!
