Hi, I'm Natalie, and I have been working as a private tutor for over 13 years. I help students prepare for all sections and levels of the SSAT, as well as all sections of the ACT. *Middle Level SSAT, and Upper Level SSAT: In addition to reviewing SSAT verbal and SSAT math concepts, students master analogies, build their vocabulary knowledge, sharpen their reading skills, and learn the art of solving word problems. I also guide them through the SSAT essay/short story section so their writing really shines and sets them apart from other applicants. Whether students invest months of time in their test prep or spend a few lessons with me to improve their test performance, they raise their scores and become better test takers. One of my most successful students raised his overall score by 86 points after only 6 lessons, and 2 other students scored in the 98th percentile for highly competitive schools! *ACT: I’ve helped many students successfully prepare for all sections of the ACT! I use different techniques to approach each section so they can score high. In addition to working through practice tests with me and on their own, they also complete practice homework outside of lessons. We use only the best resources and materials. My most recent student reached a composite score of 35 after a 7-point increase in his ACT Math score after just 8 lessons! I focus on concept review, strategies and approach, and time management techniques. Committed students score in the top percentiles and are admitted to the schools of their choice. The main subjects I have experience tutoring in are: IB English Literature, IB English Language and Literature,Theory of Knowledge, IB Philosophy, IB Theatre, IB Art, IB Environmental Systems, and Personal Statements for University Application. In my experience tutoring, I’ve worked with over 70 students and I’ve been fortunate enough to see their final overall scores surpass their predicted scores by an average of 5 total points on the IB 24-40 point scale. I’ve also had the joy of building personal relationships with these students and have really appreciated not only getting to watch them grow in ability, but also in confidence as we work together. My primary focus as an IB tutor is supplying my students with the necessary skills to develop their ideas and arguments with regards to their internal assessments, and to aid them in preparing for their exams. When it comes to working on their internal assessments, we focus on strengthening weak points within their arguments and establishing a thorough structure that makes sense to the student, so that in any circumstance they feel that they have a firm grasp on the subject they are exploring. In regards to preparing them for their examinations, we focus on slow-burn study-prep. Which includes: essay structure, how to approach a text, various methodologies involved in the syllabus, and practice papers that we dissect as a duo to keep the students as involved in the learning process as possible and ensure that as they finish their experience with the IB, they retain the knowledge and skills they have learned long after their examinations are over. In the case of Personal Statements, I focus on aiding the students in establishing a written piece which accurately encompasses who they are, while also placing them in the best light possible. We focus on effectively communicating their course choices, extracurriculars, interests in the program they are applying for, and why they would be the perfect applicant for the University’s consideration. As a tutor, I believe it is my job to not only teach my students their subjects and the skills to approach their coursework, but also give them a safe space to make mistakes and learn. I aim to establish an environment where students feel comfortable asking me questions, knowing that I won't make them feel silly for needing help and will instead support them on their journey to becoming more confident in their studies.

Hello, and welcome to the key to your success! All lessons are conducted through Zoom or Skype so that you can learn from the comfort of your own home! The benefit of this is also that I can record our lesson, and you will have an alternative revision source. I will use online tools to deliver the same high-quality tutoring that you would receive in person. I am very lucky to be able to tutor both school-attending and home-educated students. Some students I spend a couple of hours with, some a few months, and others I currently have the pleasure of being with them for a couple of years in preparation for their SATs, GCSEs or A-levels. Whatever your needs, I can promise you will find both a tutor and a friend in me, and I will adapt to your needs. I am highly academic and love to enthusiastically share my knowledge with others. Tutoring is extremely rewarding for me and I will take the time to make sure that you understand everything fully and (hopefully) develop a love for the subject! I see myself as being very calm and patient and good at explaining myself in clear spoken English. I always encourage questions and plan all of my lessons in advance to make the best use of the session. Each lesson is specifically created and tailored to my student's needs, and I take pride in being 110% committed to you and to your child. I will regularly send homework in order to test and mark your child’s ability/progress and give them feedback. I do this to enhance their written ability in order to gain full marks in the exam (though I never promise certain grades). I know exactly what the exam boards are looking for, since I am also a fully qualified exam invigilator, and I have access to a range of past papers from different exam boards. I am also highly experienced when it comes to students that perhaps don’t enjoy English as a subject, are quiet in themselves, and struggle to concentrate. I have a deep understanding of the English language, including grammar, vocabulary, and usage and I am familiar with different teaching methods which means that I am able to adapt my teaching style to meet the needs of my students. I consider myself to be very patient, understanding, and motivated to help every student succeed. I am an excellent communicator and am able to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise way as well as being creative and innovative in terms of coming up with new and engaging ways to teach the English language. In addition to my teaching skills, I am also a great listener and am able to understand my students' needs. I am supportive and encouraging in every lesson, and I focus on creating a positive learning environment where my students feel comfortable asking questions and taking risks. Find out more about tutoring below! Please contact me as soon as possible to organise a suitable timeslot (as I am proud to say that I am a popular tutor), and I will endeavour to accommodate you. Still not sure?

Professional English taught by a Journalist, Native Speaker, and Editor (Antwerp)
Justin is a true professional and is really gifted at helping job seekers in their career path. He assisted me a lot with career advice, job application adaptation and proofreading. He is really good at communication, reading between the lines, and highlighting the core idea. Our lessons or as I would rather call it a master class, were absolutely great and easy going. Thank you very much, Justin, for your amazing approach, custom-made professional and easy attitude, and a super international mindset. I would very much recommend it!

English Crash Course for essay-writing, personal statements (with focus on Oxbridge) and test prep for IELTS, Cambridge, etc. (The Hague)
My daughter has started taking lessons from Emilia. The lessons are about writing essays in English and speaking. There was a good connection from the start, she was very engaging and on top of the topics. Emilia also regularly has given me feedback about my daughters development. Our experience with Emilia was more and above our expectations so far. She was also giving homework's and reviewing the homework before the lesson, so very happy to have chosen her for private English lessons.
