Trusted teacher: Professional saxophonist eager to teach and work to bring out the best version of yourself! The lessons are intended for all levels, children or adults. We follow a working method where you will continuously and deeply develop your musicality, way of playing, expressiveness and technique. -------------------------------------------------- ---------------------- Raúl is a Spanish saxophonist who finished his DIDACTIC MASTER in 2018 at the École Supérieure des Arts in Mons. Previously, he also completed a MASTER OF INTERPRETATION at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (2015-2017) in the class of Alain Crepin and Simon Diricq. He studied at the "Musikene" (Higher Conservatory of Music of the Basque Country) with Eric Devallon, Tomás Jérez, Antonio Felipe Belijar and Miguel Ángel Lorente. Passionate about multidisciplinary artistic creation, he thinks of the mixing of all the arts in the same show as an aesthetic goal. This type of research could be observed in his project for his final master's recital in Brussels where he created a project based on Maslow's theory of the hierarchy of human needs where he mixed live, recorded music, dance, light shows and effects under the name: “according to Maslow... ” In terms of his career as a concert artist, he has played in different ensembles (solo performances, duo, trio, quartet, orchestra...) and different countries such as Japan (Artisanal Musical Fair "Suono Italia" 2010), Belgium (Festival Musiq3 2016), Artonov Festival at BOZAR in 2016...), France (Dax chamber music festival 2011) or Spain (Music Festival “Quincena Musical” 2015, Aste Nagusia 2015, Heineken Jazzaldia 2014, Festival Kutxa 2015, Intercentros Melómano 2010).

Trusted teacher: Prior to the SAT’s shift toward digital testing, I’d instructed over 100 students on all sections of not only the SAT, ACT, and PSAT, but also the HSPT, ISEE, and Chicago Selective Enrollment exam, primarily online but also in person. For the SAT and ACT (my specialties), I’d completed the 15 most recent officially released exams of each test and prepared explanations for my students. I knew the tests inside and out and had developed dozens of strategies for their questions. In addition to having perfect knowledge of and ability to teach the content on each exam, I’ve always been very gifted at standardized tests specifically. I’ve had an ability to see the right answer based purely on phrasing and context clues, without needing to deeply analyze the problem. Over the course of my years working with students, I’ve been able to identify and teach various red and green flags in questions that allow the test-taker to immediately and accurately eliminate or home in on answer choices. Due to my international background, I had several international students who had their first digital SAT in March 2023, a year earlier than domestic students. Wanting to teach them to the best of my ability and capitalize on this shift, I went through all of College Board's official practice materials several times, in addition to unofficial material from Manhattan Review, Kaplan, and others. I identified new trends on the digital SAT, was able to rework past (paper) official problems as supplementary material, and devise strategies for the exam. Though my educational background in regard to mathematics and English may be less impressive than some other tutors, I’m confident that for a given problem (especially in sections other than mathematics), none would be able to offer a student as in-depth of an explanation for a missed question with as many varied, consistent strategies to find the correct answer as I could.

Learn the art of gesture to complement that of words and verve and brilliance will be within your reach! CHILDREN - 7 to 10 years old - This course can help a child gain a little more self-confidence and understand some of the mechanics of public speaking. In this case, more playful techniques such as improvisation, theater, and drawing will be used. The psychological part of this course is even more important than for adolescents and adults, because children's emotions are more difficult to manage and their attention span is limited. GOOD TO KNOW: Eloquence – From the Latin eloquentia, from eloqui, to express oneself 'It is the art of speaking well, that is to say, of acting through words on an audience, of convincing them through argumentation, but also through emotion.' Alain BRUNN: former student of the École normale supérieure, agrégé of modern literature, University of Paris-III-Sorbonne nouvelle "It is not eloquence that is born of rhetoric, but rhetoric that is born of eloquence" (Cicero -De oratore, XXXIII, 146)

Mariam

Mariam is a skilful, bright and passionate teacher. She will explain you a topic thoroughly and systematically, while making sure to put the new knowledge into practice right away. On the other hand, if you are interested in linguistic details of a certain topic, Mariam will easily go in depth, down to etymology, since, besides being a native Georgian speaker, she is also an educated philologist. So, not only will you learn the general material of a lesson, but also discover fun, peculiar and useful facts and words along the way. And I think this is the best about Mariam's style of teaching: it's flexible and adopting to *your* needs and interests. Recommended, obviously!

Yogesh has been preparing me for the OMPT-A test for the last few weeks and has clearly explained all the chapters that we have gone through so far. He has prepared slides show for each tutoring lesson, that clearly explained the topic and included mathematical questions which would check my knowledge. He is always opened to feedback and any questions that I may have if I don't understand something. He has also given me additional questions to practice after the lessons to improve my knowledge. Now I feel more prepared and confident that I will pass the test. I would highly recommend him as a tutor.

I really recommend katja for your violin classes!!! She's a very good teacher. Katja has a rich background in music and is able to adapt the class according to the level of the student. Her explanations and corrections to evolve are concreet and very well done, which makes things easier to understand. She makes you love music and violin. She has a good time notion and makes the hour of the class efficient as she makes you work on different things. She's also a very nice person! Enjoy your class with katja :)
