Math or Programming. Recommended to grasp essential base concepts

The first thing I do when I start to work with anyone, is to understand what they can already do, and what they can't. Afterwards we'll train every step of the way to excel at each step and have a strong foundation to work with when solving bigger problems.

Above all, the belief that everyone has within them the capacity to understand what was already understood by others. The only factor that distinguishes students is the will they have to learn. With that in mind, it is also my responsibility, as a tutor, to keep them engadged and motivated. As Plato once said, "Do not train a child to learn by force or harshness; but direct them to it by what amuses their minds". And that is my main objective.

To keep the learning on a good upward path, there should be no reservation in testing the student's capacities at any given time, and if all goes well, it will be like a game that will spark a desire to grow and achieve more difficult tasks constantly reenforcing previously acquired skills.

About Me

Hello!

I am an 18 year old Portuguese student of Computer Science in the Queen Mary University of London. I am very passionate about mathematics, and I've always been very happy to be able to help others understand what I already know. From a very young age , I gained the habit of trying to understand things taught in class to then explain to my friends the best way I could. I don't know how to evaluate my own explanations, but the truth is more and more people started to come back to me with questions, so I figured I was saying the right things :)

Fast forward a few years and I was even asked to volunteer in tutoring among other more professional tutors, and even some of my old teachers! I took it and for the past three years I've taken tutoring a bit more seriously, tutoring kids from as young as 9 years old to helping colleagues my age.

Education

All of my education from pre-care to the end of secondary school was in a portuguese private school called Colégio São João de Brito.
Now I'm taking Computer Science at Queen Mary University of London

Experience / Qualifications

I completed the portuguese A-Levels with the maximum score on the math's national exam.
I've worked in several different volunteered tutoring projects

Ngoc
Private Tutor Mathematics (Primary, Secondary, GCSE)
Hi there, I’m Ngoc- a 1st-year Computer Science student at London South Bank University. I have a huge passion for Maths and a desire to inspire that passion in everyone. Since I've been in the learning period and understand psychology, as well as the difficulties that students face, I can easily solve the problems you have in the way of learning math and help you overcome the pain and fear of math the easiest way, instead, you will gradually fall in love with this subject. I can share with you how to learn Math effectively, and how to build logical thinking and problem-solving skills. As long as you can understand the source of the problem and the solution, you can remember the knowledge for a long time and apply it to solve the same or more advanced exercises, not necessarily memorising it all the time. It can be said that with a comfortable and creative way of teaching, I am confident that I can help you solve your own problems, turn your fear into a passion for math, and improve your math score. Thus, if you have any problem with the studying method in Maths, don’t hesitate to give yourself the chance to tackle that by selecting the most appropriate tutor to navigate for you to reach your goal and target. Thank you so much!

Private math lessons - Limoges or online - Qualified and experienced math teacher
I am a qualified and experienced mathematics tutor. Graduated from the Free University of Brussels in 2011, I started my career by teaching remedial courses in different schools in Brussels. I then specialized in individual academic support by following educational training at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. I have been giving private mathematics lessons daily for over ten years. The students who follow my private lessons benefit from personalized support. The first session is devoted to an in-depth assessment of the student's mathematical knowledge. The objective is to detect its weak points and understand their origin in order to adapt my courses to its needs. I develop a tailor-made remediation program for each of my students aimed at filling each of their gaps. Over the course of the sessions, the student builds a solid foundation for learning and regains self-confidence. At the same time, I help him acquire a work methodology that allows him to gradually become autonomous in his studies. I have a perfect knowledge of the mathematics program of the College and the High School (from the Sixth to the Terminale). During my formative years, I studied and developed many techniques that make it easier to learn math. The strength of my pedagogical approach lies in my ability to explain in a simple way everything that the student finds complicated. I am passionate about this job because it gives me the opportunity to guide dropout students on the path to success. It is a real pleasure to see them evolve and come to terms with the fantastic world of mathematics. I provide my private lessons in Limoges (at the student's home) or remotely (online via the internet). My distance learning courses take place on an interactive online whiteboard. This board is specially designed to promote student/teacher interaction on the internet. Thanks to this educational tool, my online courses are as effective as home courses. The student only needs an internet connection and a computer, tablet, or smartphone to take advantage of it.

Private coding / programming lessons with python
Python is one of the best, if not the best, language to start learning programming. It is also one of the most widely used languages today, especially in cutting-edge areas such as machine learning. This popularity means that Python is constantly evolving. It offers a wide range of tools and libraries, which are free and very varied. As an aeronautical engineer, I like to share my knowledge and derive satisfaction from it by teaching and motivating others. I'm used to working with people of different ages. I believe in the importance of segmenting learning, visualizing progress, setting concrete goals and practicing regularly. Beyond these general principles, there is no magic rule or method. Some approaches work with some students but not with others. Adaptation to individual needs is therefore the main objective of private lessons. So I will do my best to find what motivates and helps my student.

Math tutoring for high school students
As a teaching professional, I have always enjoyed sharing my knowledge. My goal is to provide quality education. I am aware that some topics may seem complex, but often this is simply the result of an inadequate explanation by the teacher. With me, you will discover a real interest in the material! We strive together to achieve academic excellence, overcoming the shortcomings and difficulties encountered by your child. Studies will become a pleasant experience for him. In addition to the courses, I can also help with school orientation, identifying their preferences and highlighting the advantages and benefits of a fulfilling educational ambition. The sessions generally take place according to the following stages: 1️⃣ The first sessions are devoted to the assessment of the student's level in order to detect existing gaps. 2️⃣ Next, we create a personalized plan to address these gaps, including the number of hours of work needed, specific areas to focus on, and appropriate training and development exercises. 3️⃣ We stay in constant contact with the student's class teacher, to keep up to date with the latest requirements and ensure a consistent approach. 4️⃣ Subsequently, I provide exams similar to those that are likely to be asked in class, to prepare the student effectively. 5️⃣ Upon request, I write a regular report, usually monthly, to keep parents informed of their child's progress throughout their course. I adapt my methodology according to the specific needs of each student, thus offering them a personalized and adapted work approach. In addition, I offer crash courses for students preparing for the start of the school year, allowing them to start the year well prepared, with a solid lead on the school curriculum. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me. I will be happy to help you.
