I am a Mathematician with a specialization in Mathematics Education and I provide private tutoring in Mathematics for students in Primary and Secondary Education.
I have graduated from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece and I am currently a Master's student in Educational Studies at KU Leuven.

My goal is to adapt the teaching of Mathematics to the individual needs of the student.
Every child thinks, creates, and learns differently and this is something I encourage my students to discover.
I build students' self-confidence by encouraging them to take initiative and not be afraid to dare even if they are wrong. In this way, they gain confidence and stop seeing Mathematics as something unattainable.

My name is Maria, and I am Greek. I am currently in Leuven to complete my 2- years Master's program at KU Leuven. I am really passionate about children's empowerment through teaching. I help my students build their confidence and make them believe that they can achieve anything they set their minds to. I love volleyball and I am a part of a ladies' team. I am classes to become a teacher at the Galileo High School, I have already been faced with different internships. Based on my studies, I propose to give a hand to your children. I treat all the subjects seen in primary school based on the teaching of the teacher of your child. Before I start, I prefer to agree with the parents on how the course will run (homework or not, several courses treated the same day, give it more exercises, ...)

I try to explain the subject matter in a way that the student would understand and could apply to exercises. We do a lot of exercises with the student, we do them together in the beginning, but I also let the student do a lot of exercises alone to see if the student can do it alone. If the student cannot do it, I explain the subject matter again and we do more exercises together.

I had mentorship experiences for secondary school and high school as well as teaching math and geometry. Mentorship is very effective on students’ performance. In my mentorship, we define our long term goals. We keep track our weekly goals to achieve the goal and we together have a high motivation and discipline.
