As for English, I was raised in an international school environment where English was a core part of my education from childhood through high school. I earned my TOEFL certificate before beginning my current bachelor’s studies, which are entirely in English. I've also taught English with a focus on pronunciation, grammar, syntax, and practical communication skills. TUTORING SET-UP When tutoring, I place strong emphasis on tracking progress, often by assigning homework (if agreed upon) and creating clear, structured plans to help students stay on track. I’m always flexible and happy to adapt to each learner’s feedback and preferences to make lessons as enjoyable and engaging as possible. I offer lessons online or in person—either at my place or yours. Thanks to my bilingual upbringing (with a German mother) and my French-German high school diploma (AbiBac), I can also provide instruction in German if needed. Over the years and feedback from my students, I have established a methodology and practical tools according to the objective of each: - To deepen the knowledge of the Japanese culture. - Acquire language bases in preparation for a trip (business / sabbatical year). - Prepare for exams (BAC, JLPT). - Analyze your mistakes to improve your results. - Improve your oral expression. - Advise on the steps to be taken / followed in relation to your project. Basically, I was not a student particularly gifted for foreign languages! I would have to wait until high school to trigger a keen need to get my dream: go to Japan! After high school, I did not study at all to be a teacher, translator or performer! * So why do I continue to devote my time to private lessons? * It all started with Marine looking for a host family to host Yuka for 3 months! I have been having lessons with Femke for a couple of months now and I am very pleased with my progress. Not only have I progressed in vocabulary and knowledge of the language, but I have also grown more confident to speak Dutch where I can in my day to day life - something that really helps to boost my learning. Christian is really good teacher, I have on-line classes with him and I was gladly surprise that it went very well (exceeded my expectations), I learned a lot in my first class, he has very personal approach, he is very nice, approachable, patient and very good teacher :) glad to have him as teacher and looking forward for next classes :D.
