Lucie - Dublin29€
Trusted teacher: EN - Hi, I'm Lucie and I would be glad to help you learn French, be it from scratch or to help you improve. I love to make my students speak since I strongly believe that practice is the key to learn a language and to improve your knowledge. I always structure my lessons according to subjects based on daily life situations (how to introduce yourself, how to make an appointment, shopping/grocery, going to the doctor, professional language, etc). We'll go through the grammar, vocab, and pronunciation. If you're intermediate, we'll also do some lessons about reading comprehension. We'll put both the grammar and vocab in practice. And hey, I can teach in English if you want! FR - Hi, I'm Lucie and I would be delighted to help you learn French, whether it's from zero or to improve your knowledge. I love getting my students to speak since I think practice is the secret to learning a language and improving knowledge. During the first lesson, we will talk about your goals as well as your level, so I can create a lesson for you. I always structure my classes according to themes based on real life (how to introduce myself, how to make an appointment, do the shopping, go to the doctor, French at work, etc.). We will see together grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. If you are intermediate, we will also do text lessons. We will put both grammar and vocabulary into practice. Classes take place via Zoom or Google Meet. Before booking a class, please send me a message to confirm availability.

Trusted teacher: I have been tutoring French and English for the past 20 years to students of various ages & origins and of numerous backgrounds: children, teenagers, adults, professionals, and also sometimes even seniors (85+). Why am I teaching both languages? I’m bilingual and of American & Swiss/French origins, and... I live in Ireland! This is what makes my teaching strong and relevant because I understand both cultures and therefore I can adapt my classes depending on the language of my students. While I was studying social work in French-speaking Switzerland, I was giving French/English private lessons in order to earn a side income. And I genuinely enjoyed doing it! After I graduated and started working full-time, I didn’t give up this activity because I loved meeting new people and helping them achieve their goals. My teaching is always interactive in order to hold my students’ attention during the whole length of the classes, using numerous learning tools (photos, newspaper articles, music, videos, etc.) Naturally, I will focus on the priority of each student. Some students will want to improve their pronunciation, grammatical, and vocabulary skills, others will need to prepare a presentation or a speech at school/work, while others just want to learn a new language to enrich their general knowledge. And sometimes too, parents want their younger children to master a new language. Thanks to my education and experience with children, I’m also able to run a class dedicated to them! What you will gain from my course is not only good pronunciation and vocabulary/grammar improvement but also a deeper knowledge and understanding of the culture that surrounds one language! When you speak a language it’s important to appreciate the lifestyle, traditions, and heritage of the nation(s) speaking it. Both French and English are spoken in many countries around the world, as primary languages, and with so many different accents: the learning process is unlimited! Besides that, I’m also a genealogist, I’m running Spiritual (non religious) seminars in the West of Ireland and I have a passion for vegetarian & vegan cuisine. I hold a Degree in Early Childhood Education for many years I owned a private “Before & Afterschool” facility as well as Summer Camps for children aged 4 to 12 I’m looking forward to meeting you!

Trusted teacher: Bonjour tout le monde ! I am Sarah, a 27 year-old Frenchie currently studying for a Master's degree in Intellectual Property Law at Trinity College. And I would love to help you learn my native language ! French can be quite hard to learn by yourself. I know that for a fact since both my partner and mother are foreigners doing their very best everyday to master it ! To give you an example, I tend to focus on my partner's spoken French for his work and for my mother, I mostly help with her grammar and written expression. But what I mostly like to do with all my students generally speaking, is to help them gain confidence by expressing themselves more fluently. I do focus on everyday-speaking-French a lot because I think it's the first and most important thing people should get comfortable at. I want them to feel at ease in their everyday interactions with other French speakers through a more natural and casual level of speaking. This also helps them understanding their favorite tv shows and songs better as well as conversations and words they might hear during trips to France. Basically what I would like to do is making learning French a fun and relaxed activity. I don't want it to be a chore for you or a source of anxiety. We could have online lessons as well as in person classes in Dublin while having a warm cup of tea or coffee ! From my point of view mastering other languages helps you feeling more confident and free to open to new people and cultures. It makes traveling easier and more enjoyable and gives you that certain confidence in your ability to adapt to what you don't know. I want to help you experiencing this, whatever your age or current level. Allez ! C'est l'heure d'étudier !

Phillip
It is always a pleasure to meet Phil for our weekly online French classes. He is a patient and kind teacher and always full of energy for our class. Phil is interested in a wide range of topics, so we always have something to talk about based on an article he selected as 'homework'. What I really appreciate about his way of teaching is that he corrects me during our conversation without breaking the flow of our talk, so I can really feel my confidence in speaking French increasing each class. I woulf highly recommend Phil if you are looking for a French tutor :)

Sarah
Superb French teacher. I was looking for someone to practice my French conversation with and Sarah is exactly what I was looking for. Any word I struggle woth, she notes down and sends me a list of such words later in the day. She uses short French videos to stimulate topical conversations. I would highly recommend her for both young and old learners of French alike. Excellent!!

I am super happy with the lessons Lucie provides. She is very kind and patient. Lucie comes very well prepared and gives homework that challenges me. She has a very nice way of explaining things and we can also have a good laugh in between exercises!
