Jazz-trained multi-instrumentalist teaches piano, guitar, bass, drums, music theory & music production to all ages and levels, in English.
I have over 8 years of experience teaching piano, guitar, electric bass, drums, band coaching and music theory in a wide range of styles to all ages. I approach music tuition with the aim to instil a lasting appreciation of and enthusiasm for playing music, especially with kids and teens! With emphasis on improvisation and rhythmic awareness, my lessons not only prepare my students to play jazz and jazz-related genres but also teaches them to understand music more deeply than just notes on a piece of paper. A typical lesson involves a balance of technical warm-up exercises, sight-reading, improvisation and working through a tune of your choice. That said, we can work on whatever you want, I'm always happy for my students to guide the lesson.
My students love my fresh approach to teaching and parents especially appreciate my flexibility with timing and travelling to their house. I can teach all instruments online or at your location, but only piano and guitar at my location.
I look forward to meeting you!

About Me
I have been appreciating and playing all styles of music since I was four years old. Picking up more instruments as I grew up, I ended up studying at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in Australia and have been gigging professionally for over 6 years with various projects, including Foshe, Ngaiire (RnB, dance music), Indira Elias (Cinematic Folk), Ella Haber (Indie RnB) & Rees Lucia (Indie Folk). Foshe is my primary group, a fully improvised, jazzy-house polyrhythmic synth trio. I also write and produce music and can teach this, as well as electronic music production, to anyone who may be interested. I've recently launched a new one-man band, which is entirely improvised dance music achieved via live-looping in Ableton.Education
Bachelor of Arts (Music) at University of Sydney Australia including several subjects at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music such as jazz piano, electronic music production and film music.Study under esteemed jazz pianist John Harkins and jazz drummer Andrew Dickeson.

Guitar workshops: personalized lessons / private training
Folk or classical acoustic guitar.
The teaching philosophy is adapted to the level of each individual, according to the pace of work and motivation.
For example, for beginners: Technique of the plectrum or fingers, coordination and correction of the right and left hand. Learning basic chords, simple themes, simple rhythms, reading tablatures (…).
For intermediaries: development of rhythm, construction of chords, writing of tablatures, basic notions of harmony (…).
Depending on your goals, you can learn, if you wish, to play 60 to 80% of current music from the first lessons, which often use the same chords and the same techniques. The objectives take into consideration the following points:
-Study of various playing techniques, chords, harmony, music of your choice, rhythm, with reading of tablature, teaching structured around the repertoire you like, technique of developing the musical ear
- Discovery of the neck, notes and basic positions of open chords
- Left / right hand coordination and rhythm exercises for the right hand
- Learning of different pieces of your choice
- Left hand control exercises, speed and precision
- Learning arpeggios
- Work around muscle memory
- Learning improvisation, musical play with others
- Ear training: use your ears to find chords, melodies, sounds and techniques used
-Spend a pleasant moment of exchange, without unnecessary institutional pressure, while obtaining concrete results
-Understand and discover the many facets of an exciting and user-friendly instrument
- Benefit from personalized advice on your posture and certain pitfalls to avoid when starting alone
-Adjust and clarify your self-taught knowledge
- Learn tablatures / tabs & in English.
Note :
- Possibility to use the guitar available on site, during the test phase.
- As our teacher is also a singing teacher, it is possible to combine the two disciplines: guitar + vocal instrument, and to work on synchronization, style and accuracy.
- Possibility of offering this course (birthday, party, Christmas, event ...) to the person of your choice.
THE TEACHER :
Trained in Grande Ecole post-preparatory classes & Ivy League university in the United States, our teacher has specialized and has worked for more than 15 years, in Europe and North America, in the field, in renowned international public and private establishments, with careful pedagogy and methodology as the watchwords.
PLACES :
- Locations: Geneva-Lausanne-Friborg-Neuchâtel-Montreux-Bâle-Sion-Sierre-Morges-Bienne. But currently, only by videoconference in accordance with national recommendations on Covid. These sessions also seem to be perfectly unanimous since they have the advantages of direct (example: quality of the interaction), without its disadvantages (ex: loss of travel time), with additional advantages (ex: of notes on the chat, which can be reread afterwards). In this context, these videoconference sessions for which you have requested me, seem to arouse a certain enthusiasm (and a certain enthusiasm). At your request, I therefore continue to offer them.

Juan
Guitarist graduate of Crr de Paris, with 10 years of teaching experience, gives guitar lessons.
I studied classical guitar, chamber music, early music and musical writing at Crr de Paris. Since then, I have given private lessons in guitar and music theory. Also, I perform with several formations of current music and I compose music in the image.
My lessons adapt to everyone's needs. Starting from a deep understanding of the work we want to interpret, we focus on the set of techniques that must be mastered to achieve it correctly. The choice of works being guided by the needs and desires of the student. This will allow us to develop the guitar and musical level of it.

Piano, Music Theory and Aural Lessons - all grades
I have over 10 years teaching experience both privately and in schools. Pupils have ranged from children through to adults. I am a friendly and enthusiastic teacher and my aim is to ensure that all my pupils enjoy making music and can work towards their individual goals, whether it be just for fun or preparing for music exams.
I am also able to teach music theory, which not only helps with musicianship but is necessary if students are wanting to progress through to the higher music grades.
I gained a Bachelor of Music and Masters degree from two of the top London music colleges; the Royal College and Royal Academy of Music. Since then, I have been performing as a soloist and with orchestras and ensembles around the world.
Brice
Gives drum lessons (electronic and acoustic)
Hello,
I like to transmit and exchange with my students.
Seeing them understand and progressing is essential and very rewarding for me.
My lessons are based on an academic method focused on learning music theory and instrumental practice.
I bring a specific method adapted to the profiles of my students (age, availability, tastes, motivation, "anti-music theory").
I try to make my students independent, help them develop their listening skills, their sense of rhythm and transmit to them an efficient working method.
All styles, all levels: pop, rock, funk, jazz, blues, soul, reggae, latin

Piano, Composition, Music Theory, Harmony and counterpoint
Learning music, is directly connected to the cognition system of our mind, and our cognition is the first step to perceive the music, so it is important to understand music and perform it.
I am proposing class of Piano, Composition and Music Theory and writings.
In the class of Piano depending on the student's wishes, we work on different methods, from learning music just as an activity to students who are wishing to continue their profession as a musician.
Class of composition has the same algorithm as the piano class, the method selection is based on student's wishes.
Music Theory is proposed in both classes of composition and piano on the side but for the students who wish to learn music theory separately with more concentration, I propose this class as a separated class too.
Class of Harmony and writings actually has the same situation as music theory classes but students in the class of composition will be more specialized in harmony and counterpoint than piano students and of course, this course is proposed as a separated class too.
Matéo
DEM Jazz graduate gives guitar lessons of all styles in Paris
Hello, my name is Matéo and I am 24 years old. I have been playing the guitar for more than 7 years and for more than 3 years I have taught it to about twenty students that I have had in private lessons.
On the diploma side, I obtained my DEM Jazz (Diploma of Musical Studies) after several years in conservatory and music school. My favorite style is therefore jazz but I teach current music in general on the guitar (acoustic as well as electric) and above all I adapt to my students to teach them what they like.
In addition to learning pieces, the knowledge I have acquired allows me to approach musical theory (the rhythmic, melodic and harmonic aspects inherent in each piece) and the logic of the instrument (the organization of the notes on the handle) if necessary, the goal not being to inflict a lot of music theory on ourselves but to use it to our advantage, by small touches, in order to become a complete musician.
A few words about my pedagogy:
For me, the most important thing - especially when you're just starting out - is to have fun making music. What I always ask my students: “What do you want to play? What music do you like? ". Because it is this desire that will make it possible to make the effort to work to achieve the result and above all to progress on the path. After a necessary moment spent on the fundamentals, I adapt myself to the profile of each student to offer him work tracks in relation to the piece that we have chosen. I think this method allows you to explore music deeply while remaining playful.
I move around Paris, in priority around the 15, 16, and 7th arrondissement.
If questions do not hesitate.
Hope to meet you !
Mateo
David
Classical guitar, nylon acoustic, improvised music
I am a professional nylon string guitarist, classical, jazz, fusion, performer, composer and improviser.
I was trained at the CNR in Nice in classical guitar (by the duo Ako Ito and Henry Dorigny, for those who know), and in composition, harmony and instrumentation. I have a solid experience of teaching in institutions and independently, as well as studio and acoustic and electroacoustic recording techniques.
Children or adults, beginners or confirmed, my lessons adapt to the objectives of the student, for instrumental practice such as training and musical culture. We will define them together. I guarantee you rapid progress and a truly rewarding experience whatever your level. Classes take place in an artistically and intellectually stimulating atmosphere!
If you are a beginner, you will build on solid foundations and will not be limited in your future progress. For beginner children who wish to join a conservatory in classical guitar in the coming year or the following years, they will have the technical and musical level required.
If you are an already advanced guitarist, I can greatly help you to liberate your playing, to overcome any technical limitations that still hold you back. Many good guitarists are particularly limited by their right hand. Si-Si!... We will solve these problems in a few sessions. You will quickly gain in velocity, nuances, expressiveness. By the way, you will stop hurting yourself!
The goal is to make music! Together we will reveal your potential as a guitarist and musician, interpreter as an improviser. Because if you are passionate about improvised music as I am, your possibilities will quickly expand by exploring playing modes, special tunings, the fusion between contemporary, classical and jazz music.
See you soon
David
