Trusted teacher: What was Mikhail Barishnikov, Rudolf Nureyev, Natalia Osipova, and all the other Russian dancers’ secret to success? The one thing they all have in common is their training in the Russian ballet method of Vaganova. This professional method has been developed over the decades to become the most effective method in the world. The grandeur of the legendary Russian Bolshoi and Marinskii theatres speak for themselves. For this reason, I have gone to Russia to study for my bachelors in this method at the University of Moscow, and together with my collective experience in teaching ballet, am waiting to train you to become the next ballet legend. WHAT DO CLASSES LOOK LIKE? Each lesson is 1 hour 30 minutes, the sweet spot between length of attention span, physical endurance span, and building stamina. Ballet classes are structured according to the Russian ballet method of Vaganova, and body conditioning classes include professionally developed exercises specifically for dancers. I customize lessons to work on what my students most need, and therefore weak spots are attended to until they are wiped out. Lessons are conducted online in the convenience of your own home, saving both time and transport costs. WILL YOU BENEFIT FROM THESE LESSONS? My lessons are for you if you any one of the following scenarios describes your situation: 1) YOU DO NOT ATTEND ANY OTHER BALLET CLASSES - classes include a full syllabus, examinations are optional, and you can therefore attend my online lessons as your only source of ballet. 2) YOU ALREADY ATTEND OTHER BALLET LESSONS - I also offer the option for you to take these classes as a supplementary addition to classes at your studio in order to boost your scores in exams and competitions, and improve your technique, strength, allegro, and stability in pirouettes, balance, and pointe. This gives you the chance of becoming the new class hero, and enjoy the freedom of dancing without worrying about stamina, faulty technique, low leg height, weak allegro, and gruesome posture. 3) YOU ARE A DANCER, BUT YOU DO NOT DO BALLET - my body conditioning classes are beneficial for dancers of all genres. It teaches complete control over the body, promoting stability, strength, leg height, good balance and stamina. WHAT LEVELS DO I TEACH? I currently teach beginner, intermediate and advanced levels (RAD levels would translate as all levels up to Advanced 2 and Solo Seal), for children from age 10+ and adults. ABOUT DANÉ - I am an experienced ballet teacher and qualified balletmaster/choreographer who loves choreography, people and teaching. To make it more interesting, here is my experience starting now and going backward: I graduated my 4 year Bachelor's degree in "the art of the balletmaster" with summa cum laude at the university of Moscow in July 2024 where I was voted the best student of the institute by my lecturers. I began my studies in Moscow September 2020. I had 14 subjects including the Russian ballet method of Vaganova and several other dance styles, body conditioning for dancers, choreography, music and acting. During my studies I taught ballet and dancers' body conditioning and staged choreographies. Prior to this, I studied Russian for a year in Kazan, Russia (this is a requirement if you study choreography in Moscow). Before going to Russia I founded and directed my own ballet school in Johannesburg from 2017-2019, and staged 3 productions. During this time I trained with the Russian School of Ballet in South Africa, attained a distinction for my exam and took part in their production at the Roodepoort State Theatre. Before this I trained with the RAD with many distinctions up to Advanced 1, but changed to the Russian method just before taking my Advanced 2 exam (if you take classes with me you will understand why;)). Furthermore, I won multiple gold, A+ and special awards in festivals, eisteddfods and competitions, several of them including my own choreography. I was part of a theatre group from 2016-2017, where I performed the lead role in the Roodepoort State Theatre. I have done ballet since 2003, and was schooled in an American syllabus from grade 1 to graduation.

Trusted teacher: Have you ever travelled to Singapore, Malaysia, or other Southeast Asian countries and fallen in love with their food culture? Why not recreate the flavours in the comfort of your home, following easy-to-follow recipes with the guidance of a passionate Singaporean home cook? Born into a family of Spice Makers, I am a third-generation Spice Girl based in Switzerland. I learned the nuts and bolts of spice mixing from my father and cultivated the love of cooking from the OG Spice Lady Boss, my paternal grandmother aka ahmah. From a young age, I was exposed to the vibrant colours and aroma of fresh spices then as I grew older, watching and assisting my ahmah in the kitchen for our daily dinners was my favourite time of the day. Traditional Singaporean dishes such as Chicken Curry, Sambal Assam Fish, Rendang, and Sambal Prawns/Squid, Stir-fry KangKong (morning glory) are commonly found on our dinner table. For special occasions or not, we would also cook Nasi Lemak and Laksa and these two dishes have become my go-to comfort food whenever I miss my motherland. 1. Chicken Curry (non-vegetarian) Chicken Curry is an iconic Peranakan dish in South East Asia. Chicken and potatoes are stewed in spicy, rich and creamy coconut gravy. Usually served with rice but it is also delicious to be eaten with a French baguette or bread. 2. Laksa with Prawns/Vegetables (vegetarian-friendly) Traditional Laksa is a spicy noodle soup popular in the Peranakan cuisine of Southeast Asia. Laksa consists of thick wheat noodles or rice vermicelli in a thick broth made with spices, fresh aromatics and coconut milk. Common toppings include fried tofu puffs, fish cakes, shrimp, bean sprouts or other vegetables and minced fresh laksa leaves. 3. Meat Rendang (non-vegetarian) Meat Rendang is a Singaporean, Malaysian and Indonesian “dry” curry commonly made with red meat, spices and coconut milk which makes it spicy, rich and creamy. Beef rendang is considered by many to be the king of all curries as they are packed with complex flavours. 4. Sambal Assam Fish (non-vegetarian) Sambal Asam Fish is a classic Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia dish which is addictively sour, tangy and spicy thanks to tamarind (Asam) and chilli. It is considered a healthy dish with lots of vegetables such as tomatoes, eggplant, lady’s fingers and fish with no coconut milk and tastes amazingly satisfying. 6. Bak Kut Teh (non-vegetarian) Bak kut teh, or pork ribs soup, is a popular traditional Chinese dish in Singapore. The dish consists of pork ribs stewed with a mixture of aromatic spices such as garlic, white pepper, black pepper, star anise, cinnamon and other spices. 7. Kueh Salat / Seri Muka It is a popular Singaporean and Malaysian Nyonya kueh (pastry) made with pressed glutinous rice layered with coconut egg custard (Kaya) flavoured with pandan. (steamer required) You will need: - Basic cooking equipment such as a saucepan, pots, knife, cutting board etc. - Cooking hob - A blender or a food processor - Apron Once a class is confirmed, I will be providing you: - A recipe card - An ingredient list. You will need to get the ingredients on your own before the class. - A packet of Anthony The Spice Maker's Spice Blend depending on what we are cooking. For local students (residing in Switzerland & Liechtenstein ) I will send you the spice blend free of charge. For international students, I will send you the spice blend but shipping fees are at your expense. The class will be conducted in English.
