As a tutor, I work in a calm, patient and personalised way, adapting my approach to each child. I believe it is important for children to feel comfortable so that they feel free to ask questions and are not afraid of making mistakes. For me, trust is an important foundation for effective learning.

During a tutoring session, I first look at what the child already knows and where they are experiencing difficulties. I listen carefully to what they find challenging and adapt my explanation accordingly. I then explain the material step by step, using simple language and clear examples that are relevant to the child’s everyday life.

I like to use an active and varied approach. Children are given plenty of opportunities to think for themselves, practise and ask questions. Whenever possible, I also use games or fun activities to review the material in an enjoyable way. This helps children remember what they have learned and makes learning feel less difficult or boring.

A typical lesson starts with a short review of what we learned during the previous session. We then work on a new topic and practise it together. At the end of the lesson, we take a moment to look at what is going well and which areas may need some more practice.

My strengths are my patience, my clear way of explaining things and my experience in a school environment. I enjoy working with children in primary school and mainly provide support with maths, language and study skills. My goal is not only to help children improve at school, but also to help them discover that they are capable of more than they sometimes think.
