“Language is the key to connection – I help you open that door.” My name is Rebeca. I was raised trilingually in Dutch, English and Spanish. Thanks to my international education and years of experience in a multilingual environment, I switch effortlessly between these three languages. From my own experience I know how lost you can feel in an environment where you don't speak the language yet. That's why I offer language support to children (4-17 years) who want to learn Dutch or improve their language skills - especially in the Arnhem-Nijmegen region. Personal guidance, tailor-made I teach in a way that suits the student: personal, patient and tailored to the level and learning needs. I work with different teaching materials and focus on communication and speaking skills, so that my students quickly feel at home and dare to speak with confidence. Special attention for children I also coach children with dyslexia or autism and help them in a way that suits their unique way of learning. In addition, I support children who are switching from international to regular Dutch education - both in terms of language and in finding their place in a new school environment. Practical and flexible The lessons are 1-on-1, The price is per person per hour. My method of teaching starts with analyzing the difficulties for the student. Then we will work on this in a focused way. I will first explain more and then we will practice together. It is important that you practice well outside of the lessons. I studied computer science (and mathematics) at Radboud University. I finished mathematics at the gymnasium with an 8. So I can give you tutoring at any level. I have given math tutoring before and currently also have math students. Furthermore, I also have tutoring students for chemistry and physics, so I can help you with that too.

All lessons are tailormade taking into consideration your desired style, learning goals and knowledge level. Lessons are in English and are held at my studio/home in Arnhem. Lessons can also be held at your requested location at an extra cost.

In these lessons we will use the language skills you already have to discuss topics relevant to your ability level and interests. In doing this you will practise and improve your speaking skills, and I will give you feedback and advise, as well as introducing you to new language. In English teaching lessons I use reading, prepared topics, and listening. I can also prepare lessons based on questions you have or parts of the language you would like to explore. For example, a lesson on phrasal verbs using reading to introduce language, and then discussion to reaffirm it. In these lessons I can introduce you to new language and concepts and they are a very effective way of learning! Please let me know what level you are when you book.

This is not so much a lesson. It's more of an ongoing course. I will specifically guide you with your social research: from the choice of subject to the implementation of your conclusions/recommendations. And that at your own pace! Until my retirement I was a teacher at the HAN in Nijmegen for 25 years, studying Social Work. From that position I have supervised hundreds of graduation projects. I have extensive knowledge and tools for guidance for social research at MBO, HBO and Master Social Work level. For full-time students I use a different rate than stated above. As a fourth-year conservatory student, I offer fun and good piano lessons for every level. The lessons can take place on location or at home. A standard piano lesson takes half an hour with me. This can take place once a week, every 2 weeks, or every month. For people who play a lot or are more advanced, half an hour is sometimes not enough, for them I also offer lessons of 45 minutes or an hour. With your wishes first, we make a lesson plan with which you can get to know the piano (better) as quickly as possible.

In consultation, I always try to adjust my lessons as much as possible to the personal preferences and the level of the students. However, I like a dinamic way to carry out the lessons. I like to use different sources (videos, audio, stories, comics, etc.) and I exchange activities to keep the student's attention.
