Cello and Music lessons for beginner, intermediate and advanced players (all ages). My goal is to find, with the student, the joy and the feeling of profound concentration while playing an instrument. The lessons are of course adapt to each student, but the common thread will always be to try to combine music and technique, leaving out boring mechanical exercises.

Hello everyone. My name is Maria and I love playing and teaching cello. The nice, emotional, and depth sound of the cello attracted my interest from the age of four and I decided from this young age to start learning how to play this beautiful instrument. As the years were passing by I was getting more and more impressed from the glory of music and of the cello. So my love and my passion became a profession. I am from Greece and I lived in the Netherlands for the last five years. I finished my Bachelor studies in cello performance at The Royal Conservatory of The Hague and I obtained a certificate in Music Education. Now I am continuing my master studies at Conservatorium Maastricht and I work in parallel as a freelance cellist and cello teacher. Teaching is my passion. In the last 5 years, I teach regularly. Beginners, elder amateur cellist, advanced teenagers, and kids of all ages are some of my students. I have plenty of patience, and I am able to adapt my system to the needs and capacities of each student. As a teacher, I focuse on developing the cello technique and the musicality of my students. Basic music theory, rhythm, and ear training are part of her lessons too. The focus of my teaching is to make my student love the process of learning music and cello. In addition, I utilize recognized progressive methods to solidify your foundation (Feuillard's Young Cellist Method, Valérie Aimard's CelloKids, Yampolsky, etc.). Then... it's time for the music of your dreams and sharing! Technique is simply a tool at the service of music. Alongside the fundamental work, we'll emphasize the joy of playing the repertoire of your choice: we'll work on the music you truly love. If a score doesn't exist or proves too complex, I'll create custom arrangements especially for you! But of course, music is first and foremost about sharing. I'll regularly accompany you in duets during our lessons to develop your listening skills and musicality. Indeed, playing together is very stimulating. Furthermore, I can occasionally organize meetings between students who wish to participate, giving you the opportunity to meet, exchange ideas, and play together in a friendly atmosphere.
