Trusted teacher: Hello everyone! My musical journey began when I was just four years old, starting with the piano. Later, at the age of seven, I eagerly embraced the violin, adding its enchanting melodies to my repertoire. I achieved a professional mid-grade in both piano and violin. Fueled by my love for music, I moved to Rotterdam, Netherlands, to pursue a Bachelor's degree at Codarts University of Arts. Under the guidance of teachers like Natasha Morozova and Hed Yaron Meyerson, I refined my skills and nurtured my artistic vision. After completing my Bachelor's studies, I continued my musical exploration in Codarts' Master's program. Alongside my classical training, I've always been intrigued by the therapeutic potential of music. In 2023, I earned certification in Music Therapy, expanding my horizons and deepening my connection to the healing power of music. In collaboration with my colleagues, I am member of the Olga Trio. Our mission is to highlight the works of women composers throughout history. Our debut performance at the IV Concurso Nacional de Interpretación de Obras de Mujeres Compositoras was a proud moment, affirming our commitment to amplifying diverse voices in music. Beyond classical music, I've always been drawn to exploring different genres and styles. As a member of the Jong Metropole Orchestra in 2023, I relished the opportunity to collaborate with musicians from diverse backgrounds, pushing the boundaries of traditional musical conventions. In every note I play and every project I undertake, my passion for music shines through. It's a journey of exploration, growth, and discovery, and I'm excited to continue sharing my love for music with the world. I've been teaching during the last 8 years. I am flexible with the students needs and I embrace fun and creativity in my lessons.

Trusted teacher: Music is Play! and everyone is it's own game. Read, understand and make only the music you like. I think if it isn't fun, it can't be music:) I studied a classical piano bachelor, and later a jazz master and a live electronics master. In the meantime, I have been teaching music. It's longer than 9 years now! Most of my students learn piano. With the starter ones, I use my own system to equally help them grow all the needed skills: body consciousness (to avoid lesions or bad habits), music theory (including writing and reading) and improvisation. Usually most songs are made of melody, chords and rhythm. From there, I can help you understand how a song works, how is it written, how does it translate to the piano... and voilá! You'll know the song by heart, and will be able to play it a bit different every time, because you won't be following a set of pre-imposed instructions. You will understand how a small system (a song) works. This way of learning can be applied to any song, from any century or style. Understanding is key! Play Chopin, write rock songs, play Monk, Bill Evans, the Beatles, make a lo-fi beat, play Beethoven, play the Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and Star Wars, play video game music, play salsa! bachata and make people dance, laugh or cry. Music is very powerful! PD: I have also experience imparting electronic music lessons in Ableton Live and Max MSP, which is now a very important part of my professional practice. In case you are interested, it is also possible to mix the two worlds and create a any kind of path between piano, synths, beats and home studio techniques. Ask me anything, I'll tell you how I could help!

Trusted teacher: Experimentation is an inherent characteristic of electronic music. Nowadays, composing music using technology creates endless creative possibilities that demand the musician/composer to adapt to numerous technical and artistic challenges. Do you like experimenting with sound and making music that does not clearly belong to a particular genre or style? Interested in bringing a fresh perspective and out-of-the-box thinking to your music production? Are you just starting out in electronic music composition and wondering how to develop your own style? This course is just what you need. In this class, you will learn: - how to transform sound using analogue and digital techniques. - how to create sound structures and organise them in a DAW enviroment to compose a piece of music. - how to record, edit and mix sounds using both conventional and experimental techniques. - how to use improvisation in both the context of live performance and composition. - about the theory and practice of free improvisation. - about the history and origins of electronic music and how it affected the music we listen today. - how to document and communicate procedures related to your artistic practice. - how to create an artistic portfolio. Aspiring musicians with a background in any genre can take advantage of this course. A formal education in music or experience with electronic music composition are not required to follow. However, you should be unafraid of experimenting with sound and music technology! Each class is customized to meet the needs of the individual student in an innovative and flexible way! The course can also serve as a preparation for applying to several Dutch educational programmes related to electronic music composition (Institute of Sonology, HKU, ArtEZ, etc.). The class is focused on small assignments that help the student develop a sense of orientation and set goals. Recording, editing, and mixing will be done via the DAW "Reaper," but we can switch to your preferred software at any time. We will use the first lesson to discuss your background, interests, and motivations in order to develop a course structure that is tailored to your needs.

Music is the best skill and tool for traveling to different times and places! Thus, I would like to invite you on an exquisite adventure. Oud and Tanbour are two prominent instruments from the family of stringed instruments that give you the ability to perform a type of music (Gahan music) that we know as Modal/ Maqam music to Dast-Gahi music from the past centuries until today. Our comprehensive approach to this music system, spanning from Central Asia to the Mediterranean, ensures that you will gain a deep understanding of this rich civilization. Through inspiring and amusing lessons, we will cover ear training, reading music scores, techniques, and music theory and history. And, most importantly, you will have the opportunity to develop your playing skills by making music together. - Oud/Ud To become a skilled oud player, it is essential to learn one of the oud playing styles. These lessons will focus on the Iranian oud playing style, which boasts a vast repertoire from Maqam music to Dast-Gah music. Alongside ear training and reading music scores, we will excitingly elevate your playing technique, enabling you to perform a variety of pieces from the masters of this music style. While the oud has a long and diverse historical past, our approach will be thoroughly contemporary, ensuring that you can connect with this instrument in a modern and engaging way. - Tanbour Playing Tanbour is a journey into the heart of Sufi and mystical thought. This instrument demands a high level of technique, Sonority, and Musicality, allowing you to connect deeply with the music and touch your audience's soul. I will guide you through a contemporary approach to playing Tanbour, including improvisation and composition, through a series of classified pieces and exercises. Get ready to be inspired and to inspire others with the epic power of the Tanbour. - Music Theory Lessons (cognitive approach in the practice of Persian Music) Music appreciation is designed to teach students how to understand and describe the contexts and creative processes involved in music composition, recognize what is being heard and what to listen for, and understand sound and melody. What is the time signature? What instruments are being played? What are you feeling while listening to this piece, and why? The term "appreciation" has roots in philosophy, described in this context as the understanding of the value and merit of different styles of music. Our primary focus for this method is a cognitive approach to the practice of Iranian Cultural Civilisation, known as Persian Music.

FL studio is a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) that has been one of the most used software in the professional field as well as for pure hobbyists for years. For me, Daniël, it led to graduating from the Herman Brood Academy as a Pop/HipHop producer in 2015, as well as winning the Grote Prijs van Rotterdam in 2021. In the meantime, I have done (co)productions for artists including Topnotch (Universal), and my most recent tracks have been heard on BBC1Xtra Radio, for example. With my lessons I would like to help you from the basics in your development as a music producer. All lessons are tailor-made and practice-oriented, with the necessary theory being applied on site when this is essential. I know from experience that this is the best way to learn in combination with many repetitions of such actions. It is not only effective, but also very fun! The following topics are covered: - Drum programming - Different rhythms - Use of Samples - Basic theory (Volume, clipping, panning, BPM, MIDI notation) - FL Studio software essentials (Convert your own tune to .MP3 and .WAV, Shortcuts, audio and layout settings) - Use of Virtual Studio Technology (VST) instruments - melodies - Structure of a song (composition) - Basic mixing and mastering techniques - Basic sound design Naturally, the topics are adapted to your level, but more importantly to your wishes. So do you have a specific genre that you would like to specialize in? Then we will do our best together to develop you into such a producer! Before we start, I think it's important to mention that fun really comes first. Music is a beautiful means through which we can express ourselves as we want and therefore we can also create what we want. Regardless of the guidelines, no mistakes can be made when it comes to creative expression. It is therefore extremely important to me that you feel comfortable! To ask? Reassure them, and otherwise see you soon!

Experimental electronic music composition / Free improvisation (theory & practice) (Rotterdam)
Yannis

We just have started to work with Yannis, but I am really happy about how we progress and feel inspired and looking forward to future lectures. Yannis teaches me to develop a vision on how to approach working with sound, while recording, processing and using it in electronic composition. I would say he is opening my mind in a way toward the analysing a character of sound as a compositional element. I like that lessons are not only just about a particular technique (and there are so many to learn from Yannis), but about developing a workflow and a mindset. Examples from historical electronic pieces to listen and analyse from legendary electroacoustic composers are really inspirational. After each lesson there is a home task and in the following lecture there is an analysis of the results and based on that Yannis gives lessons on what needs to be changed, improved, pay attention to etc, in order to develop compositional skills. I highly recommend Yannis as a teacher, if you are into modern experimental electroacoustic composition and improvisation.

I started singing lessons with Ludovica as a total beginner. She has a unique ability to adapt her approach to each lesson and any challenges that come up along the way. Ludovica is incredibly patient and creative in helping to overcome blocks, always finding ways to make progress feel natural and enjoyable. Most of all, she is caring and supportive, which makes learning with her a truly encouraging experience. Highly recommend!

Ivan

After the first few lessons I can say that Ivan is serious about his craft. His lessons are tailored to the needs of the student and he pays a lot of attention to technique and good posture, which for a beginner guitar player like myself is especially important. On top of that Ivan is just a very nice guy, easy to talk to and able to explain concepts and theory in an understandable way.
