I hold a Master's degree in Music in both piano performance and as a piano teacher. I speak fluent English, Spanish, German, Dutch, and basic Italian, so I can teach in all of these languages. As a concert pianist, I have made numerous concert tours as a soloist and played with renown orchestras in several countries, including Germany, France, the Netherlands, UK, and United Arab Emirates. Furthermore, I won prizes in several prestigious piano competitions, made various TV-, radio and album recordings, and attended masterclasses with world-renown pianists such as the master pianists Murray Perahia, Jacques Rouvier, Emanual Ax and Igor Roma. My piano lessons are for students of all ages and levels, who would like to learn or improve their piano playing. Although my background is in classical repertoire, I also have experience in teaching popular and film music, among other types of music. I love all kinds of music, and I'm definitely open to teaching you how to play your favorite songs. My lessons include learning and improving piano technique, reading sheet music (if not already mastered), playing by ear, music theory, musicality development, and fostering enjoyment in playing this beautiful instrument. Not just a singing teacher, but by the way also the best vocal coach you can get hold of at this moment and in this area of the Netherlands (so take your chance...;-)). For about 3 years I had a serious problem with my vocal chords (incomplete closure) and a dislocated larynx. I started to be in contact with Stefano by chance asking him to show me some (singing) exercises additionally to my treatment at the ENT-department of Martini Ziekenhuis Groningen as well as an ongoing therapy at a professional trained speech therapist. To cut a long story short: Within a couple of lessons and dedicated exercises he succeeded in re-positioning my larynx and got rid of my incomplete vocal cords closure, meanwhile the medical specialists had decided that the only cure could possibly be an operation... As a ‘side-effect’ I am now able to sing and control my voice like I have never been able before and could never have imagined that this was possible to achieve by just some simple but individually chosen exercises and practice. Mary has been great in our interactions. At the moment, we are meeting twice a week for an hour each session. She started with a class in which we got to know each other and she listen to my goals. Then, she prepared exercises and lessons specially designed to help me reach those goals with practice and also prepared lessons to help me continue growing as a guitar player. Moreover, she goes often out of her way to get songs challenging to my level, but that are doable with enough practice. In all, I am enjoying quite a lot of our classes and I am always looking forward to them.
