About Me

My name is Alessia and I am a materials science and engineering engineer.
I have long been interested in knowledge transmission and teaching. I started tutoring in high school, working with students from secondary school through to university. During my studies at EPFL, I had the opportunity to work as a student assistant in linear algebra, helping first-year students with their problem-solving sessions.
I particularly enjoy helping students understand concepts that seem complicated to them, gain confidence, and see their progress. For me, learning is not about memorizing formulas or methods, but above all about understanding their logic and acquiring the necessary tools to solve problems independently.

I primarily offer tutoring in mathematics, physics, and chemistry. My approach is personalized: I adapt to each student's level, needs, and pace to find the method that best suits them.

During my lessons, we take the time to revisit concepts that are difficult and to solidify the fundamentals. To facilitate understanding, I like to use diagrams, concrete examples, and analogies with other fields. I also make sure to keep the student active during the lesson, encouraging them to think, ask questions, explain the concepts covered, and apply them.

My goal is for each student to leave with a better understanding of the subject matter, but also with more confidence in their abilities and the pleasure of progressing!

Outside of teaching, I enjoy tap dancing and playing music.
