Resources for improvement have never been so plentiful: videos, gaming platforms, tactical exercises, databases, analysis engines... However, having access to more information does not always mean making better progress. Watching videos can be instructive, but it often remains a passive activity: understanding an explanation is very different from being able to find the right idea yourself in front of the chessboard. Many players prefer fast paces, whereas taking more time to think during games is often essential for improvement. After the game, they check their accuracy rate, browse the variants offered by the engine and identify their mistakes... without always understanding why they made them. An engine can tell you the best move, but it doesn't teach you how to find it yourself. That's the whole difference between knowing the answer and learning how to think. To make lasting progress, you need to go beyond simply acknowledging the mistake: understand why it happened and what needs to change in your way of thinking. This is precisely where the personalized support of a coach becomes truly meaningful. ◆ A method built around your game The first sessions are mainly devoted to analyzing your games. I'm not just looking for shots that could have been better. I'm trying to understand what led you to play them. What did you see in the position? What did you consider? What did you rule out? This analysis helps to identify recurring patterns in your game and to establish precise priorities. We then build your training program based on your level, your goals and the time you can dedicate to chess.
