“Please keep your style: I really love it!” (Lang Lang, after I played Liszt’s Wild Hunt for him) Diplomas (from the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris – Alfred Cortot): - Higher Concert Diploma (Diplôme Supérieur de Concertiste) - Pedagogy certificate (Certificat de Pédagogie) - Higher teaching diploma (Diplôme Supérieur d'Enseignement) For several years I have been giving piano lessons to children and adults, beginners (who have never played the piano) and advanced students (who want to study professionally). It is about learning a piece effectively and quickly, acquiring good technique, and understanding the theory. I value your goals and expectations, and I enjoy teaching! Prices (in 2024): - 3rd Prize in the international competition Pianissima international (Category: Prestissimo; Jury President: Cyprien Katsaris) - 3rd prize in the international competition Opus Artis - 2nd Prize in the Léopold Bellan Competition, special award for Rachmaninoff I've given several concerts in France, Belgium, and Greece. I've also performed on French television (France 5). I had the opportunity to audition for Lang Lang in a masterclass at the Salle Cortot in Paris; Lang Lang praised my performance of Liszt's Wild Hunt: "Please keep your style: I really love it!" I studied at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris – Alfred Cortot with Michael Wladkowski and Guigla Katsarava. I studied harmony and counterpoint with the composer Stéphane Delplace. Starting in September 2025, I will be studying with Zlata Chochieva at the Bern University of the Arts. I'm happy to answer any questions! Thierry

I had previously played some classical for a few years, but was looking to learn jazz piano and improvisation as well. For this David is ideal, as he studied both as a classical and jazz musician, and has a deep understanding of each. About half the lessons we focus on jazz improvisation. During the lessons I improvise over a few songs, and each session he gives feedback, while adding a new layer of difficulty. We've also worked a lot on rhythm, which has really helped me bridge the gap between classical and jazz. We spent a few lessons on classical pieces as well, to refine technique and musicality. My playing feels much more fluid and musical already, and he's really helpful/knowledgeable with the details. Also, on the weeks where I did have not had much time to practice, we do a more (jazz) theory oriented lesson, which has also helped alot with my improvisation. Overall, I only have positive things to say about the lessons! David is a very easy-going teacher, and from the first lesson I felt very comfortable asking him questions. He's very versatile as well, and easily adapts the lesson according to what suits us best that week.

It's a joy to work with Katie, she has a lovely personality and a very flexible teaching style. Apart from being a good pianist I value the fact that she is able to put music into context. She has the ability to comprehend and clearly explain the underlying musical dynamics of a piece, which allows her students to not only become better pianist but also better listeners and interpreters of music. Katie is the perfect guide for those wanting to gain a deeper understanding of music altogether.
