Trusted teacher: While creating a repertoire, we will work the ear, rhythm, technique. I focus on practice, improvisation, and the relationship between you and your instrument in order to have fun on your bass. Okay, but what are we doing? The basics: - the silence - harmony (scales, chords, intervals) - rhythm (binary, ternary, swing, shuffle) - the sound (technique, nuance) - the coding of the English chords (A = la, E- = E minor, etc.) - the musical culture and the different ways of listening to music A choice: - improvisation (learning to play without partition, becoming able to play with anyone, anytime) - group music in general (the modern bass, the different roles of the instruments in a group) - jazz (standards, swing, notions of harmonies and improvisation) - rock, funk (notions of groove, rhythmic placement, search for sounds, pentatonic scales) - music games for children The instrument remains a tool to make music, so we will work to become a MUSICIAN (with the help of a bass guitar). Any age, any level (to be evaluated during the first class) I preferably receive at home, or at least near my home (Paris EST). Having a busy musical life moves are to be avoided as far as possible. Do not hesitate to contact me for further information! Additional Information: It is important for your teacher to match you musically (unless otherwise, if you want to fill in gaps, or discover a new genre). That's why I present myself in a few lines, so that you get an idea of the kind of bassist that I am: I started bass more than ten years ago, I first discovered the instrument alone (self-taught training). I later played in several Rock formations. Rock I was interested in Funk (style in which the bass plays a key role). I then became more and more interested in improvisation and therefore Jazz music. I took two years of classes at the Conservatoire du 9ème arrondissement in Paris before joining the IMEP (formerly American School of Modern Music). Currently, I play in several bands: a jazz / funk band and a jazz / rock band. My influences (in bulk): Jaco Pastorius, Weather Report Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, George Duke, Miles Davis, Funkadelic / Parliament, James Brown, Prince, George Benson, John Scofield, Hendrix, Zappa, Stanley Clarke, Al di meola, Paco de lucia, Bob marley, Marcus Miller, Kenny Garett, Bill Evans, Lettuce, Brecker Brothers, Return to Forever, Mahavishnu, Led Zep, Dire Straits, Rolling Stones, The Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Munir Hossn, Matthew Garrisson , Hadrien Feraud, Ron Carter, Linley Martha, Maceo Parker, Paul Chambers, Mike Stern, Bob Berg and many more!

The program of my lessons can be agreed and structured with you from the 1st lesson but it is quite possible to have a much more spontaneous approach according to your objectives. I can teach you essential music theory basics in the form of different practical exercises - Introduce you to different techniques related to your instrument or help you improve them according to your difficulties - Guide you in learning pieces of different styles (Pop, Rock, Metal, Funk, Reggae...) And more. I also offer my services for coaching in launching musical projects. Who am I ? Growing up in a musical family, I started music with the classical piano at the age of 6 and played it for 10 years. It was at the age of 13 that I discovered the bass and decided to delve deeper into the subject by starting private lessons and this instrument has never left me since. In the meantime, I also took guitar lessons in parallel for two years and continued as an autodidact. I joined various Rock and Metal bands during my adolescence and decided to join the Neuchâtel Conservatory of Music in the jazz bass section at the age of 16 and studied there for 3 years. It was in 2019 that I had the chance and the opportunity to join the professional band Triumph Of Death (Hellhammer performed by Tom G. Warrior's Triumph Of Death) which performs internationally. Currently, I still play in this group as well as in two other musical groups. In 2020, the desire to teach music by giving private lessons was born and so I began this activity in Switzerland, to continue it in Belgium two years later. Being back in Switzerland in 2024 permanently, I wish to resume private lessons in person in the canton of Jura, as well as online* for students living outside the canton. *Online lessons take place on Google Teams and I already have several students living abroad. For more information, do not hesitate to contact me on this platform and I will be happy to answer you!

Trusted teacher: Hello ! :) - Were you given a guitar (or a ukulele or a bass) for Christmas, and your neighbors already regret it? - Your instrument has been gathering dust for ages in Mémé's attic, and you would like to take it back? - Do you want to play above all, rather than falling asleep to the gibberish of a Nobel Prize-winning professor in music theory? - You've been playing for a while now, but do you feel like you have concrete barriers preventing you from moving forward? - You don't have a guitar, but do you secretly dream of being adored by crazy crowds? So here we go, I offer you GUITAR LESSONS (BASS and UKULELE too, near Rouen) WITHOUT MUSIC THEORY & WITH A BANANA! :) - You will choose the songs to play that you like (all styles, from Bieber to Gojira) - You will play from the first session - You will progress quickly while having fun - For each song played, I will create a personalized tablature adapted to your level - 98% practice + 2% theory = 100% cool! - You will become independent by learning to decipher a song by ear - I can lend you a guitar for the duration of the lesson - You will sign autographs - Grandma will thank you for the free space! Or do you already have an advanced level and want to improve with more advanced courses based on intervals, harmony and crowdsurfing? It's possible too! WHO AM I? My name is Guillaume, I am 38 years old and I have been a self-taught guitarist for 18 years. I learned on my own, in my student room, by sharpening my fingers and ears on System Of A Down. I also struggled like you, and I found solutions and good practices to remove my brakes. Now I play, write, compose and sing in the crazy rock/metal fusion band THE EDIBLE TOADSTOOL ORCHESTRA. I already pass on all my tricks through private lessons to several dozen students from 18 to 70 years old. I am also developing a video channel of covers of unobtainable rock/metal songs on guitar and bass, which I transcribe myself. I trained as a sound technician for a year at the Accès Digital studio in Rouen. Before all that, I worked for 9 years as a mechanical engineer in Research & Development in industry. I also like cats and pineapple juice, but that doesn't count. PS: I only teach ADULTS, I do not offer lessons to CHILDREN CONTACT ME NOW! It's up to you to formulate your request, I'm here to help you awaken the musician in you! :) Guillaume, your new teacher :)

Wonderful teacher! I am really grateful to have found Marouan. He is friendly, teaches in a nice slow but effective way, and replies quickly when setting up a meeting. I liked that he taught me the song I wanted to learn, as well as another one he had in mind for me, on the same lesson! I feel confident that I can learn quickly with Marouan if only I practice a bit in between our lessons.
