There, I trained with inspiring teachers in Hatha and Iyengar yoga, including Ashish Sharma. I joined a retreat at the Yoga-Gang Centre in Old Rajpur, and for the first time, truly understood yoga as more than physical movement — it was a philosophical, mindful approach to life. 🩺 The Second Discovery — Yoga as Healing Years later, after giving birth, I suffered from intense postnatal back pain. I couldn’t even do basic poses. After seeing a chiropractor, I slowly returned to my mat. With consistent Iyengar practice, within a few months, my pain was gone. This experience showed me the therapeutic power of yoga — how it can heal and restore the body from within.

Trusted teacher: I have a methodical and fun method of teaching. I prioritise learning the basics through songs people know and love. My teaching is relaxed and does not include grades or force any type of music onto students. After becoming comfortable with the basics of piano students can choose whatever they want to play and my background in Jazz piano, classical piano and popular music makes diversification easy. LESSON ARE IN PERSON AT MY LOCATION IN KINSALE OR ONLINE I teach people who aim to play for the enjoyment of music and I do not offer training for any grades or certificates, if you are unsure whether your child would like to pursue piano and scared that grades may scare them off, this is the perfect way to go. I have played piano for more than a third of my life and have experience playing classical piano, jazz piano and popular music. I perform regularly both with groups and solo. My experience with classical music comes from my grades with the Royal Irish Academy of music where I have achieved honours in grade 8 as well as a personal interest in classical music. I was a student of Kinsale local Billy Crosbie's who introduced me to jazz piano and I have been playing and learning about jazz ever since. Through this love for jazz I also began playing the saxophone to enhance my understanding of jazz music. I am currently studying post grade 8 jazz piano in CSM. I have performed popular music in Westfield, San Fransisco and locally in Cork, I play a wide variety of tunes, from Billy Joel to movie themes and classics such as Hallelujah. My teaching method encourages trying out multiple genres to enhance students awareness of music and to help students learn different techniques of learning tunes such as sight reading, comping and playing by ear.

Trusted teacher: I taught in the UK from 2002 to 2007, initially as a supply teacher, then as a full-time teacher of Maths, Science and Chemistry and from 2007 to 2021 in Berlin Germany, teaching IB Chemistry, Science (MYP plus Berlin School Programme) to an age range of 11 to 19 years, and from 2021-date, focusing on online prep for students preparing for International Baccalaureate (IB) mock and May Exams vis-a-vis IB internal Assessment (IA). Over the past years I have worked hard at adapting my strategies for teaching to incorporate different ideas and ‘best practice’ highlighted in recent developments in Science education. I have attended Key courses as well as departmental sessions on identifying which National Curriculum levels students are functioning at and how to help them to progress in their learning. As a Science/Chemistry specialist, I have done all in my power to uphold students’ passion in the subject, and I have had a good number of my students expressing their gratitude. In 2009 I received the International Baccalaureate (IB) Chemistry Trained Teacher Certification and batches of IB Chemistry students have graduated successfully. My time as IB Chemistry(plus MYP and as online) teacher(2009-date) has produced Internal Moderated Assessment(IA) scores as high as 23 out of 24. I see myself as a very successful Science Teacher with very high hopes for the future. I am an enthusiastic teacher and I really enjoy trying out new ideas to help motivate and engage students and to help them to learn about Science. I believe that it is important that my students enjoy their lessons and feel able to participate, so I try to develop positive teacher-pupil relationships and use a range of strategies to enable them to interact both with their fellow students and with me.
