Trusted teacher: Hi, I'm Alice, 22 and recently graduated with a First Class degree in French and Linguistics from the University of Leeds. I spent the third year of my degree living and working in France, completing two internships and doing some private English tutoring too. I would love to share what I've learned over these 4 years to help other students! I am offering tutoring in the following areas: - English Language (GCSE/A-Level) - Linguistics (sociolinguistics, language, and gender, language and power, discourse analysis) - English as a foreign language (ESL) - French culture (specialist in French film and cinema) - Gender studies (throughout my degree I have specialized in gender and feminist approaches: feminist linguistics, feminist film theory, feminist philosophy, etc) My classes are ideal for students at any level! Whether you're an A-Level student looking for some help with the English Language coursework or an adult wanting to delve into the world of linguistics, I adapt my classes to YOU and YOUR goals! My approach is student-centered, prioritizing what you want out of your classes, making for a fun and relaxed learning atmosphere. I like to use current examples in my teaching to make the subject relevant and to really engage students. I also respond to student's learning styles (visual, verbal, aural, etc) and use this to their advantage, bringing out student's full potential. I am also open to emails and discussion between classes- learning isn't just in the classroom!

Trusted teacher: Contrary to popular belief, learning Latin is not like learning the phone book by heart. I offer you Latin lessons that are unlike any other. There are two types of courses. Here is an analogy to illustrate their respective approaches: If you take the train back and forth every day and don't have time to wait long at the platform, imagine that you only have two options: 1) Learn the schedules by heart. 2) Note that the train arrives every ten minutes and that a train arrives for example at 7:00 a.m. In school pedagogy, in study notebooks and in ordinary courses, it is the first approach which is adopted - in the courses that I offer you, it is the second because it is more economical and faster. My offer is aimed at both students and adults who want to learn the Latin language or deepen their knowledge without time-consuming detours through the insanities of school methods which do not produce results. Learning is easy but unlearning what has become a bad habit is extremely difficult. All the more important it is to learn the right reflexes as early as possible. With my tailor-made teaching you will accelerate your learning in a positive state of mind. I offer individual or group Latin lessons (2 to 5 people). The methods are based on cognitive sciences and in particular historical linguistics. What will not be the subject of the course: learn lists of verbs; learn lists of nouns with their gender; learn words with their translations; memory card game; doing school exercises; follow the program in a notebook; impose French grammar on the Latin language. What matters to me in particular: motivate my student and give him a learning rhythm; encourage creativity; make friends with language; letters and their sounds strengthen your memory by working on the phonological loop; teach construction plans instead of having people learn sentences by heart; explain how the language works to make my student independent as quickly as possible; breaking preconceived ideas such as the gammatical gender would have a link with the biological gender, the accusative would be a direct complement and the dative an indirect complement, the verbs would be irregular, the declension would be random and therefore to be learned with each verb... ; place practice at the center and articulate grammar around practice. In the context of a first course, you can get a well-founded idea of my pedagogy. I look forward to meeting you.

Trusted teacher: Hello, I am Majda, French language teacher. I have been giving private lessons online since 2018. I offer special sessions that meet your needs and objectives to successfully complete your DELF (Diplôme d'Etudes en Langue Française) or DALF (Advanced Diploma in French Language), including the TCF (French Knowledge Test). I have been supporting many interested people of different nationalities thanks to online courses since 2018; For me, helping enthusiasts to practice the French language is a very good experience because I understand that success is a capital objective in the life of ambitious people. I speak Arabic, French, Spanish, and also English. I explain my lessons in the language of your choice. And at the end of each session, I give lessons with exercises to do as homework to examine your gaps and monitor your progress. Here are some things to know about the DELF and DALF: The DELF (Diploma of Studies in French Language) and the DALF (Advanced Diploma in French Language) are two official and quality diplomas. They are harmonized on the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. They include the following six levels, in ascending order: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2. These two diplomas are suitable for all ages and all audiences. In addition, the DELF B2, and increasingly the DALF C1, allow students to enter French, European or French-speaking universities, and certain Grandes Ecoles. Will you have DELF or DALF exams to pass? Do you need to follow specific sessions with me to improve your level? Don't hesitate to book your sessions so that we can start the preparation. I am available !

My daughter had her first lesson and she is very happy with Nouhaila. Excellent teacher. From the first moment a pleasant contact and clear answers to all my questions. Nouhaila thinks along well about the objectives to be achieved taking into account the age of my daughter. (16). A warm person. My daughter is enthusiastic and really enjoyed the first lesson. Serious (to use the hour well and completely) with an occasional joke. It is also nice that the lessons can continue during the summer holidays. Cécile

If you are looking for a French language teacher, I highly recommend Cecile 😊 One of the best things about her teaching approach is that she customizes the method to the student’s particular learning needs. She starts by assessing your level, goals, and learning preferences and then designs the lessons based on this. Something else that I appreciate about Cecile is that she uses a wide array of teaching materials, not leaving space for boredom or an incomplete understanding of a topic. She incorporates texts, videos, audio, fun quizzes, and exercises from different sources and genres, covering various aspects of the French language and culture. She also encourages to practice comprehensively - speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in a balanced way. All in all, if you are after a comprehensive approach to learning and practicing French, this is the right tutor for you!

Kevin is a genius, who is capable of breaking down complex concepts into manageable, useful bits. If you think of a really large basket of vegetables and fruits. You know all the nutrients are good for you, but it would be tedious to try to eat it all raw. But then, you get a juicer or blender or 'Nutribullet', and juice all those vegetables and fruits into a refreshing smoothie. You can then drink that smoothie as quickly or slowly as you wish, and still get all the necessary nutrients... That's what Kevin can do - he juices all the complex intricacies of the German language into something you can understand and digest. His methods are unconventional, but very helpful in laying a proper foundation for a successful language learning journey. Very highly recommended.
