Have you always wanted to learn the flute but never knew where to start? Are you a student confused by your school lessons and wanting a little bit of practice outside of class? My name is Sachi, I'm an American-trained flautist, and I'd like to make learning an instrument accessible, fun, and easy for musicians of all ages and abilities. I am a 3rd year student at the University of Bath, but I first picked up music when I was 12. Growing up in America, I had the opportunity to participate in marching band, concert bands, wind ensembles, and orchestras. However, it was only when I began taking private lessons that I realized how incredible and transformative music can be. My lessons instilled a sense of discipline, confidence, and love for the arts that I would now like to share with you. This course begins with the basics, but can be adjusted for whatever level you are at! Items on the course include: - Flute set up: hand position and stability - Beginner's guide to reading music - Sight-reading - Tone and the 'sweet spot' - Breathing - From Classical to Baroque to Modern and everything in between! - Flute music from around the world - Extended techniques (singing and playing, harmonics) - ABRSM prep If you have any questions feel free to get in touch. I tend to go over the topic that the student would like to go through, make sure they fully understand and then finish with some assisted exam questions as this, in my personal experience, is what will make a difference. I’m more than happy to go over work a student has completed in ‘class’ if the understanding isn’t there, and try and make lessons as interesting and enjoyable as possible! For A level, my experience is with AQA, however, I can also tutor from other exam boards For university courses, please get in touch and we can discuss which modules you require tuition for. I am currently in my 3rd year at the University of Exeter, and am due to graduate in December 2024. I study Msci Applied, Clinical, Psychology). I have experience in tutoring (3 years) in all areas of psychology, including statistics.
